On a hiking trip we were wet and tired. The receptionist welcomed us in with a smile and sat us down. We then ate the most delicious Cullen Skink. We dried out and walked on reinvigorated.

Excellent meal this evening, we were a group of 12 that were looked after really well, Erin and Jess did a fabulous job, nice meal in a lovely environment (restaurant) and drinks in the library after dinner in front of a lovely fire. Thanks to the chefs also for amazing food!! Keep up the good work!

A spur of the moment 10 minute trip, for a fabulous dinner. The Blade of Beef is excellent with a decent portion size accompanied by mashed tatties and veg.

Lovely old style hotel with a wonderful warm welcome. Excellent rooms and food. We had a great stay there!

The perfect find for a quiet night's rest, with outstanding food and service, a welcoming lounge to relax in after dinner, hot and powerful shower and comfy beds in a clean and well appointed room. Couldn't ask for more!

My review involves the restaurant. I found the menu to be rather limited, and felt that I had to settle for something I would have not ordered otherwise. The roasted vegetables were awesome! But the rest of the meal was just OK.The evening was super busy and the waitress confused our order. Mine was correct, but my husband, who had ordered a cheeseburger, received a roast beef dinner, which he then had sent back, so we ended up eating out of sync.To be quite frank, there aren't many places to enjoy a meal in this area. The place was extremely full, and I did not really enjoy the experience, despite making an effort. But if you enjoy beer with a hamburger, then I'm sure you'll do fine.

Lovely hotel and good off season deals. Bar area was cold and none of the open fires were lit.

Great traditional hotel with great staff, good food and nice rooms. Pet friendly.
