City Walls Rd, Chester CH1 2NN
Secure in themselves and their environment, Queen’s girls develop the courage to persevere when things are difficult, to challenge ideas and to forge their own path in life. Their ability to achieve great things in school and after they leave comes from their pursuit of full and happy existence, coupled with a curious mind which has been honed in a genuinely nurturing environment. They leave us ambitious, independent, confident and able, ready to take their place in the world.

Lantern of Knowledge Muslim Boys' School
An excellent school with great teachers and students willing to learn. The members of staff try their utmost best in order to allow us students to have an enjoyable time . The school calendar year is filled with a variety of trips and all students try their level best in order to achieve their grades thanks to some very hardworking staff. The head teacher Mufti Imran is excellent headteacher and inshalah will continue to be. Much credit should go to Sir Abdullah who despite all the odds at one time made this school what is regarded as ‘outstanding’

My daughter has just finished year 9 and I couldn't be more pleased with her progress. The teaching staff have encouraged and bought out the best in her in every way...both academically and socially. Excellent school, excited that younger sibling will be starting in September.

Burgess Hill Girls School
My daughter has just finished Year 7 in July 2022 and she has enjoyed her school life throughout the year. She is proud and delighted. The school mixes academic with sports and culture. Everyone can be their own individual self and be respected for that. The school encourages pupils not only to work hard but also play hard too. Furthermore I learnt from the last Founder's Day that the school has achieved excellent exam grades and quite a few A-level students will be admitting to top class universities around the world. I am impressed with the confidence of the pupils, and the love they have for the school and the teacher body. Definitely a school full of opportunities.

I was a pupil at Merchiston Castle School from 2000 until 2005 (which was when I finished my A-Levels).I really enjoyed, and have fond memories of, my time at Merchiston. The staff and teachers were always very helpful and facilitating to the pupils' needs.I cannot recommend this school enough!

When my girls were in year 5, I didn't even plan on looking around G&W as I had written it off due to previous bad reports. However something made us look anyway and we were extremely pleasantly surprised when we did. I work as a teacher trainer and what struck me most was that the staff were genuinely happy and there was a great atmosphere between them. G&W turned out to be the school furthest away from us, but it ended up being our first choice. We are now at the end of year 7 and have no regrets. No school is perfect, but the responsiveness of teachers to all queries/complaints has been great. The results have been fabulous and my children have found strengths they never knew they had. The school is big on sport and the arts which I hadn't expected and they have had some amazing opportunities over the last year. Academically, they see GCSEs as a 5 year journey and so do a lot of exams. At first I didn't like the idea, but now they have been through it I can see how confident they will be by the time they get to sit the real thing.I would definitely recommend taking a look at what G&W have to offer when thinking about schools. The only downside? No sixth form :(
