Went here as a bridesmaid for my friends wedding, the wedding coordinator was lovely to the bride and groom but very rude to us the photographer even pointed it out and encouraged a complaint on the day however I didn't want to ruin my friends day. She acted as if anything we wanted for the bride was a massive inconvenience and even had a mini go at us when the ceremony ended early as she was unprepared. I work in hospitality myself, and withy he prices of the venue the response should not have been anything other than 'ofc not a problem'

I work at Stubton Hall very regularly as a wedding hairstylist and always love working here. It's absolutely beautiful, the perfect setting for a wedding and it's bridal suite is the perfect getting ready space. The staff are friendly and helpful and a pleasure to work with. Always highly recommend!

Stubton Hall, quite simply, is the place that makes your wedding dreams come true. Stubton Hall provided us with everything we could have ever hoped of and more. The hall itself combines the best of a traditional English manor house with all the beauty of a modern venue. It's charm is evident the minute you drive up to the door. The lead up to our day was as stress free as it could be with all the staff working at the hall happy to help with all our questions. The day of our wedding ran so smoothly thanks to Rachel, our wedding coordinator. We did not have to think about anything other than enjoying the day. Everything from the food, to the flowers, to the decor - it was beyond our wildest dreams. On the day itself and in the weeks after, our guests could not speak highly enough of the venue, or praise the exceptional staff enough that we were lucky to have working hard to ensure our day went by without a hitch. We can honestly say hand on heart that our wedding day was too perfect to put into a simple sentence. Stubton Hall is the most magical venue to get married and we already wish we could go back and do it all again!

We visited here for a close friends wedding - such a beautiful venue! The staff and the service impeccable - nothing was too much trouble. Highly accommodating of small children, no request was too big or too small.I know my friends had a lovely experience planning their wedding with the coordinators at Stubton, and their experience showed with a seamless day.The family room was a lovely size and very comfortable for us all.

We recently got married at Stubton Hall and had the most magical day we could have dreamt of. The location is beautiful and so spacious allowing a good sized guest list which some other venues don’t offer. Our wedding co ordinator Laura was excellent and helped us along the way. Our experience wouldn’t have been the same without Laura and she by far made our day as special as it was. The staff on the day were wonderful and we had nothing go wrong whatsoever it was perfect.During the planning process we did struggle with was not being made aware menu tasting wasn’t a standard practice they offer as we assumed this would be the case however they did accommodate and allowed us to taste the food choices we had as options.

We organised and attended a wedding here, and it was full of pros and cons. The venue itself is set in wonderful surroundings, lakes, trees and plenty of wildlife, it's very impressive, especially for a wedding. About 15 mins from Newark town but in the middle of nowhere. There is a Premier Inn hotel about 10/15 mins drive away for people not staying at the venue. The organisation itself....leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly, the waiting and service staff were always friendly with attentive service. They were great. They handled the day well, and liaised with caterers, flowers, cake and other suppliers in an professional manner and generally the day went smoothly. Thank you to the team for making the day happen. Lee and Mike in particular were great to deal with and helped resolve issues. Thanks gents. The issues occurred with the managers and organising staff. We dealt with Rachel whose moods were unpredictable, you never know who you'll speak to. On the wedding day she didn't even say hello to the groom and was generally abrupt and unfriendly - lots of people commented on it. Lots of promises made, promises broken and importantly (but most disappointing) is the deception. As an example, we organised the civil ceremony outside and was assured that there would be a carpet runner available on the day (witnessed by 5 different people!!), yet on the day we were told there wasn't one and it was never communicated that one existed... Basically telling us we were making it up. Shocking. Secondly, make you sure keep a regular eye on the wedding planning portal. Everything has to be documented on there and it's how pricing is determined. Log on before and after every conservation and take screenshots. Make sure you follow up closely, as what's actioned isn't always what was discussed or agreed. We witnessed pricing raised, without justification, on a regular basis. An example being a £299 wedding setup fee" randomly added before the final payment. When questioned

We recently attended a wedding here and I must say the venue and catering staff were absolutely incredible. However, after we left we were made aware (via the bride and groom) that they had been charged £50 for a broken blind in the room. I was absolutely distraught as we never even used the blind due to it being too hot in the room we slept with the window and curtains open. I rang the venue and was told that the housekeeping team checked the room before we entered and it wasn’t broken… I’m sorry to tell you it absolutely must have been as like I said, we didn’t use it. I very much got the impression we were being called lairs. No mention of any refund when it’s deserved. I also have to back up the hot water situation, we had none our whole stay. Be warned… if you’re staying here check the room head to toe… literally :(

We attended a wedding with our 13 month old child, on the same table we also had a 10 month old. When dinner was being served our children were not provided a meal. Upon asking politely what are the children eating we were ignored. When asking a third time we were met with eye rolls and snarky comments. It was however ordered that the children as named guests wouldn’t have a meal (we were there all day) so we asked for anything just hand full of chips or bread; simply something to feed the kids and the staff were refusing even though we had offered to pay. However, once they enquired with the bride on her wedding day, they released one meal for two children and quite abruptly and aggressively put it on the table saying they had done us a favour and the bride will pay (not the point I was raising and to inform the bride on her wedding day is poor service). Later, before the children had finished eating the shared meal they were then thrown a pot of ice cream. The reaction from the staff implied they were inferior guests and the statement “if they’re in a high chair, they don’t need dinner…” was mentioned several times. If an establishment cannot comprehend that humans of any age require food then how can they provide quality service across the board. Note: it was more than one member of the serving team.

I attended a family wedding at this venue on Sunday 25th June 2023. The venue location, grounds, building and decor were awesome. The catering was probably one of the worst I have experienced. The venue failed to produce enough starters, which were slightly overcooked, and barely served enough for each table. When asked to replenish the half empty plates that were first served, we were told that they did not replenish. This was followed by another staff member emerging from the kitchen and giving some excuse about a 30 minute delay. The main courses were not much better and after tables were served the main dishes, all floor staff disappeared into the kitchen. We were unable to gain any effective table service. The staff were super quick at clearing the tables and they were many staff appearing from the back to ensure this task was quick and efficient. One would question what the caterers priorities were. Later when the bar was open, the bar staff were charging £2.40 for a small 3/4 filled glass of coke. My advice is that you get great value for the venue BUT AVOID the awful caterers if you can. It was unfair to mar a special occasion with their lack lustre approach to service.
