Millins of Tiptree

I've been going to Millins for a few years now and love it. You can really taste the difference in their produce as opposed to supermarket bought. They often have their own twists on meat dishes, and these are great for the basis for a quick meal.The shop is modern and clean and gives a real sense of quality and that of a 'high class butcher'.The staff have always been very polite and knowledgeable, the two brothers that run it are friendly, outgoing and have a laugh with their customers. They really know their stuff, know their suppliers and can give advice on how to cook a great piece of meat.I'll keep going as long as I'm able.

No wheelchair/disabled access despite there being sufficient frontage to make it so. Their 'alleged' ramp to provide access was supposedly under lock and key of which couldn't be found. Despite this I was served at their entrance in the freezing cold feeling like an outcast. Thought I'd try their steak and what I thought was a fresh cottage pie. When I got home on closer inspection the steak looked liked it was turning and looked far from fresh, the cottage pie turned out to be as frozen as I was at their front door. Both items ended up in the bin as well as my opinion of the place. I think you'd get better quality from the supermarket opposite which is easily wheelchair accessible and also provides reasonably edible unfrozen cottage pie and fresh beef!

John from Millins cooked the most incredible lamb for our wedding. It was a pulled spiced lamb and it was absolutely amazing. All our guests totally loved it and commented about how delicious it was. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough, thank you John and the team.

Always fresh and good quality selection form this awesome family butchers. They catered my wedding too with a delicious hog roast and fabulous deserts. The cafe serves great sandwiches and wraps plus cakes made fresh. An absolute must if you need meat, fish and cheese locally.

Excellent butchers. All the staff there really know there meat and marinades! Good quality food and good sized cuts as well. Lots to offer cheese, homemade pies and scotch eggs, fish and all types of meat cuts and made up marinades to purchase which are lovely gorgeous! Staff have always gone out there way to accommodate for me and frequently make up some more marinated meat if they have run out. Would definitely recommend a visit to here and try the Chicken Kievs and the Greek style Lamb Chops.

The best quality and cleanest butchers in Essex - probably. An absolute must if you need meat, sausage rolls, pork pies etc and cheese locally. Eat the best at reasonable prices. Lovely friendly staff.

2 500g rib eye steaks, one of the best steaks I have ever had. Highly recomend

Infuriating & Average! Having moved to Tiptree for work, I found myself excited at the prospect of a local sandwich shop as the butchers is quite good. I keep finding myself saying I wont go back after error after error! after explaining to the painfully slow lady on the phone my order to which a name wasn't even taken (and they wonder why orders get mixed up), somehow it is still completely wrong as I find out sitting at my desk, when I ring up to explain I am told well if you come back then we can change it which after the time it takes my lunch break is over, not to mention the inconsistency of the product i.e sometimes you get nice rashers of bacon and other times a few snippets mixed in! Also the bread is lovely although the baguettes taste like they were frozen. I will not be going back and can only hope that another sandwich shop opens as the prices are not even cheap yet the quality and basic structure is terrible. The blind leading the blind" springs too mind."

Another great shop at Millins of Tiptree. Stocked up on lamb, beef, chicken, and pork. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, quality produce, competitive pricing, and simple packaging/wrapping. Will try their delicatessen next time.

Amazing quality produce and fantastic service in both delivery and in store. Everyone is so polite, it's the one shop I look forward to going in to!It's no wonder they have been in business so long
