Hereford Road Restaurant
Hereford road restaurant is a nice cosy restaurant with a lovely interior. Staff are helpful and have attention to detail. Complimentary bread and butter was served before starters arrived. Food was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend the pearl barley with goats cheese and also the pork chop with hispi cabbage. The desserts are nice too.

Good food and incredible value, especially considering the area the restaurant is placed in.The service is a bit sloppy in general and (I assume) because we were a relatively young couple (mid-20s) we weren't treated as well as other customers.We had a reservation and we were sat at the booths in front of the kitchen, although every other couple was asked for seat preference, even the one directly after us who had no reservation. The booths are a bit noisy so given the option, we wouldn't sit there.Also, all the plates were cleaned and tidied up by service before being transported to the tables (we could see it in front of us) but ours were sloppy and one of them had gravy all over.Overall a good option but wouldn't go back because of what's mentioned above.

Great food. We had the pork chop, beet and egg salad, potted crab appetizer, potatoes, and cabbage. Everything was delicious if you love butter. They also accommodated my 2 year old son despite it being fine dining.

This place was so great. Every bite was perfect.We had a reservation at 6 pm and by the time we left at 7:30 it was packed.We had 2 appetizers and the mussels were affordable and fresh and completely delicious.The partridge legs with lentils were also insanely good. Tender, perfectly salted, great flavor.Dessert: do not miss the honeycomb ice cream or the passion fruit sorbet. Both are excellent.

They had run out of beef, so decided to try the Pork. The meat was so tough, I almost needed a sharper knife, very little in the way of veg and it was all swimming in gravy.

Hereford Road Restaurant
Visited this restaurant after seeing it on the Michelin list and it was definitely worth the visit.The 3 course lunch menu was outstanding. Considering the price, the portions were still a good size and the food was so flavourful.I’m a big fan of the open kitchen and the whole interior atmosphere. This is definitely somewhere I will be visiting again.

Consistently excellent. Faultless cooking, with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. I like the two-seat booths opposite the open kitchen, but there are larger tables and booths in the sunken rear of the restaurant, where a large round skylight lets the light in. I had potted crab, which is served warm, infused with butter and mace, followed by a lemon sole with roasted cauliflower and capers. Both were excellent. My partner had a starter of chicken livers with tarragon and green beans, followed by beautifully cooked lamb with celeriac, anchovy and rocket. All the dishes were delicious. Relaxed but efficient service. Well worth a regular visit.

Nice deco and quite good service. The quail was the highlight which was crispy outside and juicy. Food was cooked nicely but unfortunately, lack of seasoning. If they serve a simple menu, it’s important to get the seasoning perfect. Desserts were ok but then again, nothing impressive. Overall it’s a bit disappointing.

Decent food, nice atmosphere, tolerable service, questionable hygiene. Good experience but I wouldn't come back.Price range: About £60 per person (with 2 bottles of wine for the table)My friends and I (5 of us) came here on a Saturday evening for our Christmas gathering and we booked really far ahead. First impression was a bit off when we arrived and were brought to the table, it was a small booth set for 4 people. It's quite crammed also considering we had all our coats and jackets with us (I assumed they don't have a cloak room since they didn't ask).Appetiser 01: Potted Crab with Toast (special)Potted crab was decent and with the toast it's an ok combination but all in all quite underwhelming. Reminds me of the dish from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal but a lacking version.Appetiser 02: Duck Livers, Green Beans and TarragonNicely cooked and flavourful duck livers. The sauce goes amazingly with the greens.Main 01: Lamb Rump, Celeriac and Potato CakeOverall a good dish if you don't like your lamb too gamey. The potato cake tasted really good though.Main 02: Grilled Blythburgh T-Bone Pork Chop and SwedePork chops are always tricky to cook since they're so lean and prone to overcooking. The portion was great, it's a hefty piece of meat. The first few bites from the fat side tasted amazing, very flavourful and juicy. Unfortunately the rest of it was tough and chewy. And the mashed swede was a bit watery.***Important side note***We pulled out a long strand of blonde hair from the mixed salad. We informed the waitress and she took it away. Moments later she came back to ask if we wanted another one or to take it off the bill. And yes it was off the bill.
