Observatory the Opticians

I've been using The Observatory in Ipswich for over 5 years now and they always provide an excellent service.The eye tests are thorough and conducted in a friendly atmosphere and there is no pressure to buy new glasses.Having said that, there is a great selection of frames to choose from and new glasses are alway made quickly and are of a high quality.The after-service is also excellent with adjustments to fit, etc carried out at no extra cost.I will highly recommend using this local opticians.

Amazing - I came to Observatory after a number of issues with the main high street opticians that I had been going to for years. I no longer felt they were properly testing my eyes or listening to my concerns. From the moment I phoned Observatory, I could tell the service was different - they listened to my concerns and booked me in an appointment. My appointment was incredibly thorough, and the time allowed me to really go through my issues. Once we found my new prescription, another colleague went through some glasses options - I wanted something different and that fitted correctly for once! The ladies were incredibly helpful in listening to what I wanted and suggesting some different glasses - they even ordered in a different colour and size in the ones I liked so that I could try them on before making a decision. I must say the effort is truly second-to-none and worth the time and money you pay for a smaller opticians. I have already recommended to a number of friends and family and will definitely be coming back again!! Thank you for all your help - it has been a really refreshing and comfortable experience.

Outstanding service, from this independent opticians in Ipswich. I settled on a pair of Moscot frames which I had glazed with varifocal lenses - the glasses I received were the best (in every aspect) I have ever worn. I cannot recommend Observatory highly enough.

After three years I finally have the right glasses. Thanks to the optician she knew what was wrong immediately and was very friendly and polite. And the receptionist was super friendly and helpful with the choice of glasses I should go for. So happy that my eyes are happy. I will recommend any time any day. They are just the best.

A small business with a huge customer service! I can’t recommend this opticians highly enough. From the initial phone call, through to pick up, all staff were very helpful and had time with one to one service. I thought that would all come at a huge extra cost compared to where I’ve been before, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thankyou so much!
