Chelmer Cruises - Paper Mill Lock

Delightful cruises for the family, dog friendly, and run by volunteers... fantastic!Hourly trips from 11am onwards.

Excellent captain, the River chelmer is a nice quiet river , The 40ft narrow boat only carrys12 Passengers at a time so not crowded and you can stand with the captain for a better view . Well worth the trip ..!(Photos at paper Mill lock waiting for the boat to arrive)

Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing and picturesque 3 hour cruise for 12. The crew were excellent, very welcoming and professional and left you alone to enjoy the entire trip in private.The boat itself was lovely - clean and comfy with plenty of space for us all, and it had both a toilet and a kitchen area.The light lunch food package was good value too, fresh and tasty sandwiches and gorgeous desserts with enough options to please anyone. They even provided gluten free options for a couple of us.Normally we'd have all gone out for a meal together but at less than half the cost per head and twice the overall enjoyment had this was a much better option. Perfect day, many thanks.

Beautiful place to walk or take a boat ride. There's a lovely little cafe and toilet facilities especially for children.

Excellent Mini Cruise up and down the chelmer canal. Good value for money. Only let down is lack of parking

Booked the Victoria for a party of 35,paid for Ploughman's & Cream Teas,cost to us was £470 for just the 'food',I doubt no more than £50 was spent,complained to staff,Email sent to their Head Office,not a word of a reply,could go into a lot more detail,trip was on 3rd July,11 am.Wont be using them again.

We throughly enjoyed our four hour cruise with a Ploughman's Lunch and a Cream Tea as well!

Fantastic narrowboat trip, staff were brilliant and we had an amazing time. Plus was the perfect setting to get engaged

We hired the Victoria for our wedding party which finished the day of perfectly.

Great trip well worth the money, staff very professional and friendly.Would recommend this trip .Just to say you have to pay five pounds to park but it does cover all day
