I have given this Travelodge 5 stars as it was clean, well maintained with a very comfortable room and attentive staff. Surprisingly, although the bathroom looked very clean it had the slight whiff of being a public toilet. THE BIG DISAPPOINTMEN:, at the end of a busy day to be told that the restaurant was only serving pizza, due to the chef not being there, was very disappointing.

Great experience from start to finish. Thank you to Kirstie, one of the supervisors, for upgrading me to an accessible SuperRoom, very much appreciated the greater space! Room (330) offered great views over the Quay. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast, that is to say good if you go at the right times.Overall a great hotel and would very much recommend!

Good location. Staff were friendly & breakfast decent which were the only positive points.I was allocated an accessible room which was awful.Being accessible, it was right next to the lift & stairway, so there was banging doors throughout the whole of the night and I hardly slept. The bathroom smelt very strongly like hospital cleaning agent, which on the positive means it was hopefully clean but it gave me a really bad headache- the windows don’t open & the aircon didn’t work (it did a disco light effect through the night to let me know!)The two single beds pushed together were very low and not comfortable. The bedding was old & bobbly so I ended up checking the bed further & found that under the plastic mattress protector (sweat inducing) found the mattress to be filthy with what looked like blood stains.Suffice to say I won’t book again & have wasted my colleagues.

Enjoyed our stay here. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in 322 and the aircon was noisy, but otherwise the room was fine. We had a blue badge and sadly some other guests without blue badges parked in the disability bays. Horizon parking - please do something about this.

Nice hotel in a great location and surprisingly quiet too. View of river from room 314 was ok. Room was clean and tidy. Good price for two nights. All you can eat breakfast was good for £9.50. We had a nice visit. Thanks.

The hotel is fine, but the AC/heating in the room was frustratingly loud. The lighting in the room isn’t great, and my desk light wasn’t working, so I couldn’t work in the room effectively. There was no cleaning of the room during my stay, just the option for them to empty your bin and top up sachets. Not a great business stay, but it was cost effective.

Very poor hotel in an excellent position. Room functional apart from heater which was noisy. Breakfast great but not laid up for Saturday service. Paid over £120 per night.

We had a great stay here at Travelodge Quayside. The family room was huge, ample space even with a king bed and two pull out beds. The hotel was spotless throughout and the staff go above and beyond for guests. Be aware that parking on site is very limited but there are alternatives at a reasonable price near by. The hotel is perfectly situated on the banks of the river Tyne offering great views and an abundance of local eateries and history. A wide range of options available at breakfast and items are replenished quickly. It is an uphill climb to the city centre but it only takes around 10 minutes to walk. The steps into town are steep but there are many alternate routes (this does take a little longer).

Location is good and bad. I should say it's excellent located at the Quayside. It's only that for those who plan to walk down" to the hotel from the train station
