Travelodge York Tadcaster

What can I say, it does the job perfectly. I only needed somewhere to lay my head for a few hours. The room was clean and the staff were very helpful.Got a Greg’s next door meaning breakfast was sorted.

Upon arrival the manager was very helpful and polite however was very quick to inform us AFTER checking in that nothing was around and nearest place to grab a drink was back into York city centre (Greggs was closed as it was 5pm). Wasnt great as that’s back into the town and a 15 min drive. When looking in the room it was very basic and felt like it had not been touched in years. The bedding was clean however hairs in the bath, toilet as grim and headboard was dirty! I wouldn’t stay here again and would pay the extra to go across the road to premier inn as that’s got a cafe, bar and a little more (hence the price difference)

I turned up early so never actually went in. I did visit the cafe next door. I thought it had been bombed by the Russians. Didn't bother staying in the hotel, went to stay with a friend 100 miles away instead.

A reasonable Travelodge - though having no plug by the bed was annoying (even with a 3m charger cable I couldn’t reach the nearest plug). The rooms were big and clean, service was good however had to wait a while to check in as reception wasn’t manned. All in all I’d happily go back there but some updating to modern standards would be beneficial. In terms of facilities - no on site cafe but there is a petrol station next door - there is also a Greggs and Burger King but both were closed on my visit.

Perfect for what we needed, being in a room at the front was a lot of extra light coming through so unable to have curtains open for more fresh air. Found the room quite warm,however it was a one night stay just off a main A road so manageable and there was also a fan already provided that worked.

Overnight stay only - for budget price - good sized room and spotless bedding. Breakfast box good. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Beside a dual carriageway - note no access to hotel via Westbound - see Hotel Direction notes re access to Hotel. Room at front and was not aware of traffic noise but was very tired!

Location ok if you want to visit York but want a cheaper option, however access is a bit of bind coming Westbound from York.More of the problem was the absence of anyone at reception on arrival (the freephone number left to call didn't work but fortunately the one in the email did) and the cleanliness of the bathrooms - hairs from previous occupants.More generally, I think it's ridiculous charging £3 for WiFi >30 miniutes.

Room was clean and prepared for our visit, two adults+ two kids. That's kind when we came noticed two single beds connected together (for our kids), we had instant coffee sachets, dicoffe as well, some milk and sugar. Electric kettle provided for 1l of water, mugs and spoons. Bathroom clean, can be added the lower budget shower gel cost/shampoo. That will be very useful. Next to the hotel the petrol station + little grocery to get basic stuff and Greegs as well. Which is great.

Three nights in a family room at the Tadcaster travel lodge and its been really good. This was a value priced hotel in the area, and I would say its performed slightly better than I was expecting. The rooms were absolutely fine, slight annoyance of hearing the rain drip all night whilst it rained on the first night, but other than this it's been good. It's just a few minutes away from Askham Bar park and ride which we used at great value for £5.50 return for a family. Parking in York for our duration would be pushing £30 at the castle car park. Note that returning from York there's about a 4 mile each way travel required to get her to the required side of the dual carriage way. Never struggled for parking though was fairly busy. Would definitely stay again.

There was some issue with the plumbing and the walls or bathtub drain kept making loud noises throughout the night which disturbed our sleep a lot.Conviniently located.Spacious and clean room for the price.
