The Sawmill Cafe & Farm Shop
Had a fantastic breakfast at The Sawmill Cafe. Sat out on the benches near to the stream and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were very helpful and brought everything outside to us down some tricky steps, so we’ll done to them. The food was quality all the way and a decent portion size. It is definitely a great place to stop off to refresh, refuel and reinvigorate the body and soul. Highly recommend everyone to go here and find out for themselves.

A lovely place to go for lunch! My friend and l's first ever visit there! We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the place and hope to return in warmer weather so that we can sit outside by the river!The staff were polite,warm and friendly, the food was delicious and generous portions!! I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone in the area!

Gorgeous unique cafe next to the river , super clean, friendly staff , quick to serve, table service, homemade food was exceptionally good. This right here is a gem.

The Sawmill Cafe & Farm Shop
Travelled quite a long way to come here but I must say it was disappointing. Limited menu and the farm shop was a bit of token effort. It appears to me that they have a captive market because of the location and are not trying very hard.It is a pity as this place could be fantastic and I really wanted to like it. It's a great location, right beside the river and within a stones throw of Wast Water, with plenty of room. Could be so much better.

Went for my birthday lunch with my parents. I had the chicken wrap with home made chips, absolutely lovely! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Been to the sawmill a few times now and never been disappointed. I love the little farm shop too, always have to get a couple of bottles of the homemade honey and mustard salad dressing as well it’s a must! Worth the drive through :)

Had lunch at the Sawmill - what a wonderful place. Gorgeous food, incredibly friendly staff and good service. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, and after lunch at the table we could sit on the sofas with a pot of tea. Happy days. Loved it and will be back soon. Oh, and on warmer days lovely veranda by the river.... Lovely gift shop stocking my faves (Pure Lakes) which was a bonus. Great for gifts and Christmas shopping.

The weather turned on us at Wasdale Water so we headed to The Sawmill to enjoy a dry break.So many others had the same idea as this is a lovely cafe.Well laid out with indoor, undercover and outdoor tables.The Mill waterwheel was working so that was a bit of a talking point as was the glass panels in the floor over the stream.I had a lovely ham sandwich with salad and crisps. Very tasty, good bread, lovely ham and a generous portion.The staff were nice and friendlyAn easy 5 stars
