Popped in here after visiting the beach. We saw it on the hill and thought we'd have a lot. It's not easily sign posted. Anyway we had good and the mussels were absolutely brilliant with sea bream and potatoes. A great surprise for a beach bar. Friendly service too.

Great location overlooking the beach. Relaxed casual restaurant with great food and cold beer, just what you need after a morning in the sun. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fantastic place to eat, everything is fresh, the staff are lovely, a dog friendly place too!Our one year old enjoyed the scampi, the dogs and the waiter was brilliant with them.Price is reasonable I would say the portions are fantastic and the quality is amazing. The muscles were huge! The brownie dessert was out of this world. Parking is just down the way in the local park, it's about a 5 minute walk if that. Views out to the coast if you dine outside and a lovely comfortable area inside if you do not want to eat outside. If you are in Bude this is one place to not miss!

Idyllic location just above the beach at Bude. Lovely, reasonably priced seafood. A perfect way to unwind and watch the sunset after a long drive from Yorkshire!

Nice food and location , great views of the harbour. The specials were fresh tasting, innovative and reasonably priced. Like the use of hazelnuts with halibut and the truffle sauce with chowder. Will give these a go when cooking.John

The cheese and bacon chips were delicious as was the kentucky chicken burger. Highly recommend the cold river cider. The views over the sea are stunning, albeit fairly windy being so close to the coast. Plenty of seating inside and out. The one thing I will say is the vegetarian menu could do with a few more options.

Great place by the Beach in Bude, good food, great staff, benches and tables outside to eat/drink with lovely views. Lots of families there when I went last week. No parking as it’s literally on a headland on the beach, up an incline.

Updated as a double review:Stumbled on this today, lovely view sat in the sunshine overlooking the beach. Great service, it was very friendly. The food was amazing!! Best fish (hake) and chips ever with dreamy tartare sauce, I thought I’d ordered the hake with chorizo and bean cassoulet but pan fried hake with delicious garlic butter and chips arrived (hence the loss of a star for the mix up), I’d considered that as an option so wasn’t too upset and said nothing - and it was totally delicious, packed with flavour and a good portion so all was well. We’ll be back in a heartbeatI’ve had to update my review and reduce the stars from 4-3 as we ate again today. Service not so friendly, waited ages to be seen (board said wait to be seated) tried to order drinks then food later and told this was not allowed - it had to be ordered together which left us without a drink whilst we made our minds up. The service wasn’t anywhere near as friendly as last time (same waiter for part of it too) - borderline rude in fact, and we needed to get our own cutlery which didn’t happen last time - I get that if it was busy but staff were hanging around a lot as it was quiet. The fish and chips - we were asked if we wanted either curry sauce or mushy peas without it being pointed out that both were extra. The fish and chips was again delicious but the cold seafood platter (£18.50) was a disappointment - 2 tiny crevettes (one peeled was no bigger than a small prawn) a tiny bit of mackerel pate, a very small portion in a dip pot of brown crab meat let down with so much mayo I couldn’t taste it was crab (odd for just strong tasting brown meat) a sprinkle of prawns, a slice of smoked salmon and a few anchovies. The salad was lovely, the antipasti veg out of place, the French stick missing butter but with totally delicious pickles.I think next time we’ll look elsewhere, it’s not cheap, it wasn’t friendly and my food was a let down.

Great food and was a very busy little restaurant. Good atmosphere and staff were friendly.Quick take away food which tasted great. The only thing that was annoying was the price as there was a few of us getting take away food.
