We ate here for our anniversary meal and we were not disappointed in the standards. The food was top notch every dish was fantastic. Well presented and great flavour combinations. The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was pushed it was a very relaxed atmosphere. I can see how the staff and food are award winning. It'd definitely worth a visit.

Perfection in paradise!Tucked away in a sleepy corner of the Lake District is Crosthwaite and it's marvellous pub, The Punchbowl Inn.Having braved fog and torrential rain , we were greeted with freshly baked Scones , clotted cream and cups of tea. ( mine was Gluten Free and incredible!!)All the staff were kind, friendly ,professional and greeted guests with such enthusiasm that we felt welcomefor our entire stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast during our stay and both were exceptionally good.

Can only rate the food and it was excellent. A fine twist on classic pub meals. My advice: get the cheese souffle, you won't regret it.

Went for a family meal and it was absolutely stunning-the food, location and the staff were fabulous. We had delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. The menu is seasonal and there's plenty of choice across all courses. We will certainly be back and recommending The punch bowl to everyone.

Overall rating is based on every table in this 'pub' was set for eating. So when you just want a drink ? Good beer, nice staff but it's more of a restaurant really. We did eventually find a sofa.

The roast here was exceptional. The beef, Yorkshire pud, potatoes & veg were cooked perfectly. And it comes with a side of cauliflower cheese - which was delicious - and extra gravy just in case. Highly recommend.

Lunch at 2pm on a Sunday. seated in the dog friendly quiet centre of the pub in the bar area. drinks were served promptly and orders taken efficiently. some warm brown sourdough crusty bread arrived and all seemed good. my wife’s guinea fowl was tasty and well cooked and the sides of beetroot and green vegetables were enjoyable. my beef was tough and dry and flavourless. i would have asked for a sharper knife to cut it but i couldn’t catch a waiters eye. i should have complained but despite being seated in the middle of the pub near the bar no one came back to the table till 15mins after my wife had finished her meal. eventually the table was cleared and despite most of the beef being left on the plate nothing was said. we asked for the bill and it wasn’t until the point of paying that someone asked how the food was. it was not good enough. the pub really seems to be struggling to meet pre pandemic standards and i could not recommend the beef for Sunday lunch. the head waiter seemed surprised the beef was not pink but from looking at other dinners’ meals i d be more surprised if any had been served pink that service. if you are after a good roast beef dinner i d avoid the Punch Bowl at Crosthwaite

Let it snow! What a lovely spot for a winter getaway. The old place has been expertly remodelled to create lots of dining space - and for good reason. The menu was nice and focused. The food, carefully and deliciously prepared. Champagne to start with homemade bread. Queen scallops served au gratin and savoury black pudding kicked off proceedings. Melt in the mouth beef cheek and superbly tender Guinea fowl followed with a bottle of Crozes Hermitage. The whole deal rounded off with a soufflé and a poached pear. And a glass of Sauternes. Heaven. One of the best meals I’ve eaten in a while. Thank you.
