Clark's The Alteration Tailor

Good repair/alteration work. It's a wee bit pricier than others, but it's handy if you live or work in the area. I don't know if viewers can see the business owner's reply to this review - let's just say they make allegations about their competitors' business practices, which may or may not be true. I'm not giving fewer stars in this edit, nor am I changing the original 2 sentences of this review, but sadly, my feeling is somewhat tempered.

The jacket from a suit I had just purchased for a wedding I had to attend needed the vented cuff shortened. I took it to an alteration shop in the city centre who made a complete hash of it....just turning the cuff in and stitching it up, no vent....(I could have done this myself!). Went along to Clark's and the nice lady there (Margaret) told me it wouldn't be a problem and that they would fix my jacket. What a difference! Clark's did an exceptional job and saved the day....Really well pleased with the service. Well worth the 40 minute round drive. My only stop for alterations from here on in! - Kenny

The customer service was stellar and prompt with all measurements and requests for alteration noted in a short period. The final product fit perfectly, despite the fact that my suit was made of tweed which posed no hinderance.All in all great experience. Definetly would recommend.

Top notch service and reasonable price

Took a 3 hour round trip to reach this tailor after reading online reviews. Worth every second of that journey. The lady even offered to do it while I went for a coffee to save me a return journey.I'm 70 and not 5 ft. I find it really difficult to get clothing that fits well. Today for £24 I left with a jacket that felt had been made for me.A first class professional job. Wouldn't go anywhere else after finding this jem. Thanks girls Wish I could have given you 10 stars

Superb service. Bought a suit online last year, then lost 10Kg in weight. the previously generously sized suit became catastrophically big. Dropped trousers (Tweed) and a tweed jacket in for alteration. Was done at reasonable cost, bang on time and superb workmanship, and fits perfectly now. Will use them again!

Excellent service, I had a woolen coat shortened, I was delighted with the work, they was very professional.My coat was even ready earlier than expected, I would highly recommend their service if you want a professional finish.PS. Their prices are also very competitive.

Had a fairly sizeable rip on a jacket. Thought it was a goner. Took it in for a repair and you genuinely wouldn’t know it was ever there. Very happy with the result. Fair pricing and great customer service.

I recently had the displeasure of visiting this tailor shop, I hate to name names, however an employee, named Margaret, must have taken a masterclass in rudeness and abrasiveness.I went in with a simple request, asking if a garment could be tailored. I approached with a smile and asked politely if they could work their magic on my clothing item. She responded with curt and dismissive no." No explanation
