A small place tucked away, fantastic things to see in here - especially if you are big into astronomy like myself.

Free to enter this Museum is set up over two floors but feels quite small. We nearly walked past it, as the sign above the door stated Laboratory of physical chemistry. It has on display a human body model, globes, telescopes, scientific instruments, pictures, a room set up in Victorian times and more.

Lots of historical objects. There are two study rooms for kids to learn scientific backgrounds.

Cambridge offers a wide range of interesting museums to visit. The Whipple is perhaps one of the lesser known ones, but it offers a fascinating insight into the many and varied scientific instruments and tools used over the centuries. Opening times are limited and it is a but of a mission to find it, but if you do you will be both fascinated and amazed. There is no cost for admission.

Low key and interesting museum showcasing RS Whipple's collection of scientific objects; well worth a look around if you have a bit of time to spare

Great place to see the first steps to technology and science, you will need half a day to go through the museum.Be aware that it is quite a narrow path to the entrance because of the construction going on in the premise.

Small museum, but packed with information and history. I do recommend at least stopping by, as I am pretty sure it has something for everyone interested in the history of science. If not, you'll get to admire all the wood work up on the ceiling!Entrance is free, but they do ask for a small donation.

The Whipple museum of th History of science is one of Cambridge's hidden jewels. It has a magnificent collection of antique scientific instruments to enjoy - but more importantly for young children, it has a great selection of activity bags and boxes on various subjects. You can spend a great afternoon of explorations!
