Having a complete re-roof of your home is a scary and expensive project! However, my research paid off and I am very glad that I found Barclay&Co. I had contacted 14 local companies regarding our project, of which 6 came and looked at the job, but only 3 were willing to take it on and give a price to do the work. Of these, Steve of Barclay & Co was certainly not the cheapest, but he inspired confidence as he was always quick to respond to my many queries, happy to bring tile samples, enthusiastic, punctual and extremely communicative. I was also reassured because his company belongs to the Federation of Master Builders and the 'Trust mark' and 'Buy With Confidence' schemes.Since taking on the job, Steve has continued to keep me well-informed at every stage, has been resourceful when various problems have emerged, and has coordinated not only a large team of different tradespeople but also the timely delivery of materials and removal of rubbish. This has meant that the work has proceeded smoothly despite periods of very heavy rain as well as a heatwave! We now have a beautiful and high-quality new roof on our 1895 house which has already received many favourable comments from neighbours and passers-by. 'Thank you' to Steve and the entire team (tilers, painters, scaffolders, rubbish removers, EPDM roofers) for working so hard. I would be happy to use Barclay & Co for any future work that we needed doing and would recommend them to friends and family.

Had my roof replaced by Steve and the team. The scaffolding and skip was arranged by Steve and all arrived on time to start the roof replacement. The team were very polite and professional. We've used Barclay & Co a lot over the years from changing Windows, Soffits ,Fascias and guttering to a rebuild of our conservatory. All work is handled professionally to a great standard, they're always on time and very tidy. My MiL would agree too after her recent Garage Roof repair. Highly recommended.

Steve repaired a very problematic leak in our roof that both a builder and another roofer had failed fix. He quickly diagnosed the problem and quoted for what he felt needed to be done. The work was carried out very quickly and very effectively given that we no longer have a leak! Couldn’t recommend him enough. Thoroughly professional outfit.

Whilst selling our Exminster property from abroad, we discovered that it needed an entire new roof. We were understandably anxious about how we would get the work done remotely, but luckily a close friend recommended Steve and he came to our rescue! We needed quite extensive work done, including new felt, battens and slates. The roof timbers also needed to be treated for woodworm. All of this was completed in good time, despite inclement weather. Steve was highly professional throughout the process, emailing regularly with photographs and answering any queries we had. He even helped with communication with our solicitor, since the new roof was one of the conditions of sale. Many thanks once again for an excellent service!

This is the second time I've used Steve and wouldn't hesitate to use him again. We had a lot of work done at the end of a garden. Asbestos roof removed and replaced. Broken door and gate replaced with handmade alternatives to fit the spaces. 6 foot fences installed and 3 sheds removed. Very happy with everything. Steve is easy to get in touch with, and always happy to talk through any issues.

Steve supplied and fitted a lead saddle over the edge of my kitchen roof tiles to stop a leak. He responded very promptly to my request for advice, a quote and to carrying out the work. He was polite and friendly. I'm very happy to recommend Barclay & Co to others.

Great job of installing replacement roof dry verge by Barclay&Co. Steve provided a written quote, ensured the scaffold all arrived when it should, completed the work on time - and left the site nice and tidy having removed all building materials etc. Steve also answered any queries about the job promptly. I chose Barclay & Co based on their existing reputation and was not disappointed. Other than the work on the roof they also dismantled an old conservatory and built a new one for me. Before work commenced I was provided with options which were fully-explained and I had written quotations. Everyone involved with the work treated my property with care and exhibited enormous pride in the tasks being undertaken.
