Singing Lessons North Leeds

I have had the great fortune knowing and learning from Angus for many years now. I've always admired the way how he tailors each lesson according to his student's particular needs. Angus has a deep understanding of how vocal apparatus works and how a vocal problem might be remedied. Also, those who already have a good technique will benefit from this teachers grasp of singing styles, advice and exercises that will improve their sining.

Angus is such a brilliant person to work with. He is knowledgeable and professional while at the same time being kind and caring to every one of his students. He was fully supportive of my efforts with getting into conservatoire and I can confidently say I would never have got in if it wasn’t for the years of encouragement, support and expert training that I received from Angus. I truly cannot recommend him enough.

I have been having lessons with Angus for 3 years and I have grown so much in my ability. Angus is a fantastic teacher and I couldn’t recommend him enough. If you are looking for a teacher who will transform your skills, whilst being really supportive and creating a safe space then look no further. Angus himself is incredible and has so much knowledge- definitely the best singing teacher out there!

Amazing!!I have been singing in various choirs since I was about 7 years old but had never taken lessons to learn to sing properly. I had always dreamt of it but my search for a teacher had so far been unfruitful. During yet another online search I found North Leeds Singing and it is possibly the best thing I have done in the past couple of decades.In the 5 months that I have been taking lessons I have made incredible progress. Angus creates a nurturing environment that encourages experimentation and learning. I like the fact that when I experience issues with my voice, we work through the problems, not try to smooth over it or find a workaround. The lessons are always interesting and fun, and I leave every lesson eager to practice and improve.

So happy to have been able to resume face to face, or side to side :-) lessons with Angus after months of zoom/skype lessons! He's really embraced making the space as safe as possible, with screens, air filtering, cleaning routines and singing side by side as opposed to facing each other. I felt re-assured in my decision to go back. And it's just so much nicer to sing to another human being as opposed to a screen. :-)

Angus is brilliant. I'd been asked to play at a friends wedding and whilst I've been singing contemporary music as a singer song-writer for nearly ten years, I haven't had any lessons since I was at school.Over the course of a few weeks he worked with me to build my voice up and understand more about how I can use different elements of it. It was great from a theoretical and a practical sense and made a huge difference to my performance on my friend's big day.I would thoroughly recommend him to even the most skilled of vocal artists. His perspective and input was invaluable to me and i'm sure many others would benefit from sessions with him. Thanks Angus!
