BMT School of Music

My 8yo son has never had the confidence to do any after school clubs/ sports clubs etc, and when we arrived at BMT for a trial lesson he got very overwhelmed and anxious.We were about to turn around and walk away but Sam had a chat with him and managed to persuade him to give it a go. He is now going every week - very happily- something i didn't think I would ever see!I highly recommend BMT for this reason as well as the fact that the level of communication after the lessons is so fantastic and makes me feel like i can join my son in his journey by knowing what he is learning to play and how he is getting on.

We are so pleased to have found Sam and his team at BMT School of Music. My son is loving his guitar lessons (which can be done either in person or over zoom.). The team at BMT are amazing at inspiring and motivating, especially those going through the grumpy teens!Its a great school and a no brainer - Go for it! Highly recommended

Leon has enjoyed his lessons so much and is taking to guitar so well. It’s a whole new part of his life now and a brilliant outlet. BMT were so welcoming and run a brilliant in school programme so that he just takes his guitar on the day and gets his lesson instead of dashing around in the evening. So so glad he is learning with BMT.

I have always wanted to play a musical instrument, I don’t know why I didn’t do it before now. I am fifty five and I thought I was too old but Sam reminded me that music is for everyone. I am looking forward to my fifth lesson this week. I love it. Sam’s passion for music is contagious. They are amazing teachers and very patient. I only wish I had started years ago. Music has such great benefits to our health; we are all musical creatures. Do yourself a favour and book yourself some lessons with Sam’s team; do it today! Your future self will thank you.

Sam is an excellent guitar teacher, his lessons are really engaging, and it really helps that he speaks to the children on his own level - really fun, but not at all patronising. Our son has never been so enthusiastic about a club or hobby until now, and is really keen to attend every session (a far cry from other clubs where he’s quickly lost interest!) - we also find the extra online catch-up/practice resource super helpful. Another great element of the BMT group lesson structure is the way Sam brings the children together in their own band from day one - the kids come up with a name, and Sam even hosts an online event interviewing the children and making them feel like mini-rockstars. Importantly, this event also gives children a sense of what they can achieve if they practice. We’ve been amazed at how much our son has learnt in just 4.5 months - the no-pressure, really fun and inclusive nature of Sam’s lessons are helping ignite a long-lasting love for music, thank you Sam!

My son has been having lessons for 5 weeks now and he is absolutely loving it!He’s connected really well with his teacher and comes out of each lesson enthusiastic and keen to practice what he has learnt.From my perspective I’m really happy as well, the communication from the teacher and the school have been perfect with updates and check ins and also lesson reminders which I find very helpful!!Would highly recommend.

My son and his friends did 3 summer holiday workshops with BMT this summer and it exceeded my expectations. They loved learning together and making their own music with Jake the guitar teacher. They were so excited about creating music that they've formed a band and now are practising together. I'd highly recommend it for all abilities too as they were a mix of more experienced guitarists and beginners.

My daughter Evie started with zoom sessions with Jake, and even online came on leaps and bounds. Jakes passion for music and teaching young people was no doubt the main reason Evie enjoyed it so much. She has now started with face to face lessons and comes out absolutely beaming. Evie has been through a lot of trauma in her life, and because of that Sam takes the time to touch base with me to check how they can ensure that Evie gets the most out of music and can use it to help her through some tough times. I really couldn’t ask for more

I signed my StepDaughter up to BMT School Of Music after she took an interest in learning to play the guitar. She has been going for a couple of months now and we can see he progress being made, the lessons with Jake are well structured and taken at a slow enough pace so as not to overwhelm new starters.
