Purchased a car from this company, soon after had issues with engine lights coming on - was told it was a sensor issue- dealt with. Since then I have now got gearbox and engine problems 9 months after purchasing with no warning lights! Repair garage informed me I have been sold a car with a shoddy reconditioned gearbox - I had no knowledge of this, no paperwork to show when/ who did the work on the vehicle and not a leg to stand on £8,600 down the drain. No response from seller via email, the person who I need to speak to not available on the phone. Bad experience! I’m just upset at the deception of the sale of this vehicle to me.

Bought a car with my son who had just passed his test. An issue became apparent that we did not notice on the test drive. They picked the car up from my home, and when it emerged that it would have to go to a main dealer and it could take weeks they gave me a full refund. Very impressed. We ended up buying a different car from them. Would recommend and will going back when my youngest daughter wants a car.

Absymal customer service - asked for the car to delivered long after purchase, to which they didn’t. Zero communication, felt like I had to keep chasing after paying my deposit. After they failed to send my car, I asked for my deposit back, to which they replied no, and that its not their problem. Would recommend not using them - doesn’t feel like a legitimate business, but rather someone selling cars out their driveway

Great service from Smart cars and the team. So easy to get a vehicle delivered to us for viewing and test drive, nothing was a problem. Eventually bought another car privately but would seriously consider Smart cars in the future as the whole process was easy and with no pressure or stress. Good to have the reassurance of a 3 month warranty and yearly breakdown cover to. Would definitely recommend. SB Essex

Offered me 20% of the value of my current car for a trade in, tried to justify it as 'a trader' deal. I'm sure their cars are good but will rip you off on a trade in.

Appalling customer service! Dealer was buying my car through Motorway. However it was a nightmare trying to arrange an inspection date with me having to chase multiple times and receiving little to no response each time. After finally sorting a time, they came round to inspect the car and test drove it, which all went well. However the next day they rang up offering £6,000 less than the Motorway quotation!! They then cancelled the purchase through Motorway claiming the timing belt had gone, which is a complete lie as my car has only done 23,000 miles and has a full service history! Completely untrustworthy dealership with terrible customer service which has resulted in hours of my time being wasted!!

I ended up buying the car on the day and the guys really delivered exceptional service over and above what normally might be expected to make sure I was happy with everything.
