Fantastic place olde woldie inside and lovely courtyard. Staff fantastic .rear old school style gentleman club..Had a wedding reception there highly recommended. Once inside you wouldn't think you was in a city .

When our previous wedding venue cancelled our reception at short notice we made a hastened return trip to Portsmouth to find a new venue. By chance we stayed at Ye Spotted Dogge and decided to look no further!!The building is quirky, historical and located in a quiet central area of historic Portsmouth. The limited number of bedrooms are all unique and furnished to a very high standard.Our hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, they could not have done more to make our wedding day stress free and memorable.We would recommend Ye Spotted Dogge for anyone wishing to have a special stay in Portsmouth.Thank you for all your help.

This is a true gem. I stayed here whilst meeting with some old friends in the area. I needed somewhere in the centre of town that also offered some luxury. I wasn’t disappointed. The property is exceptional and has been loving upgraded whilst maintaining the historic beauty in tacked. The room I had was pleasant and had all you could need for a short stay. Comfy bed and nice bathroom. All clean and the addition of a sofa and seating and mini bar all very welcome. The host was equally welcoming. In summer months the garden is a real treat too. Will definitely return the next time I’m in Portsmouth.

We had an amazing stay at the Spotted Dogge from the moment we arrived everything was taken care of. This historic property has been beautiful restored and the attention to detail is faultless. Great location in Old Portsmouth, close to Portsmouth Cathedral, Gun Wharf Quays and Portsmouth University. We stayed in the wonderful Red Room with its superbly preserved historic red panelling and exceptionally comfortable bed, plentiful Breakfast buffet and stunning courtyard make this the absolutely the best place to stay. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be booking an extra night next time!

Fabulous historical house. Quirky and tasteful with a great host.Has rooms with en suites, a bar and provides a delicious continental breakfast with smoked salmon and peeled boiled eggs, plus homemade Pasta del Nata, which are Portuguese Custard Tarts, delicious. Brilliant location just 10 minutes walk from the centre and they provide a parking voucher for 24 hours. Will certainly stay again.

Wonderful warm welcome to this lovely historic building, the room was comfortable and intriguing. Breakfast in the dining room was fresh and we'll presented. There is a beautiful garden. Would love to visit again.

Ye Spotted Dogge
We had a most pleasant experience at Ye Spotted Dogge. A charming place, very well taken care of, beautifully decorated rooms full of history — the building dates back to the 1500s. Ian and Alex are amazing hosts, always ready to suggest a restaurant, a trip, or have a nice chat over drinks in their lovely bar about the historic events that took place there. Thank you!
