Parkside Care Home - Bupa

4 Months ago my 93 year old mother needed urgent respite care Parkside took her in for 2 weeks. It soon became obvious that she could no longer look after herself so very reluctantly became a permanent resident. From the beginning the staff, cleaner, carers , activity staff and nursing staff have worked hard with us as a family and my mother to help her settle in and think of Parkside as her home. Any concerns we have had have always been addressed. They gave all the residents a lovely Jubilee party in the garden. I hope now my mother will be able to enjoy her last years here. One negative is the garden, it is a lovely area but is in need of some TLC .

I couldn’t be more pleased with the care my relative is receiving at Parkside. The manager and staff go above and beyond to ensure my relatives needs are met. Not only are their basic needs met but they are also supported to participate in a good range of meaningful activities and encouraged to socialise with other residents and staff which has led to my relative completely coming out of their shell and really enjoying their time at parkside. The manager has kept me up to date with any concerns around my relative and was extremely supportive in assisting my relative adapting to a new home. The whole process was smooth and easy and I am fully confident that my relative is in good hands. Thank you Nadia and all of your lovely staff.

If you want your beloveds suffer from constant noise and never rest in peace and quiet, this place is the best option.

Nice home, friendly staff and positive atmosphere

My mother resided at Parkside for approximately 2 years during which time the care home benefited from excellent and strong leadership.My Mum had complex and challenging health care needs and from the beginning the manager took great care to assess and plan for mum’s individual requirements and preferences. Mum very much enjoyed the activities and social gatherings that were available for her at the home. She loved sitting out in the garden which we were able to enjoy with her on visits, weather permitting. Mum had a strong religious faith and the staff ensured that her spiritual needs were met.The care offered to mum was responsive to her changing needs e.g. diet and nutrition, mobility and monitoring equipment and even room changes on two occasions.The staff communicated well with the family and always contacted family members if there were any changes, concerns or incidents. The care home operated in a safe and considerate way during the Covid pandemic and Mum was supported to use an iPad to keep in contact with her family.

Our 90 year old mother has been at Parkside care home almost 2 years. and I would recommend this care home.It is professionally run by is a hard working, in touch, and sensitive manager, Nadia who has also been there about 2 years.We have been impressed with•the safety planning, especially in these difficult COVID times.•Consideration given to each resident and all mums multiple needs.•The responsiveness of the nursing and care staff•The appropriate activities available to residents•The openness of communication•The food choice (and sometimes sherry/wine)•The garden...mum loves the view and sitting out when weather permits.Mums needs are met and, we as a family, have the piece of mind she is in an excellent care home.
