Fowlmere Airfield

Called in late afternoon on a Saturday. Gave them a call at the gate and access was granted. Even though they were getting ready to close up for the day we got an excellent guided tour and a very informative chat with one of the pilots. Very friendly place and looks very active, especially on good weather days. A hidden gem in the countryside, just a couple of miles from Duxford. Will be back when we have more time to spend there.

Great place to watch aeroplanes - and passing traffic in and out 9f Duxford too...

A wonderfully kept airfield, grass runway of around 700m. The runway is on chalk so rarely floods. Busy airfield with Avgas available along with Tea and coffee for any thirsty visitors
