The staff genuinely care for the residents. I can relax in the knowledge that my mum is safe, happy and well looked after. The food looks great, fresh meat and vegetables.Lots of activities to choose from, spotlessly clean and very friendly and comfortable. So happy my mum got a place here. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they do.

My mum has been at orchid for a week's respite & looking at leaving her in permanently due to her dementia. I find the staff & nurses there very friendly & look after their patients extremely well

Its been a few weeks since we lost our Mother here and I thought its time I put pen to paper. Our Mother was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and it came to a point where we had to find secure accommodation for her. After various visit's to homes Orchid Care Home came out on top ,the management at the time were on the top of their game nothing was too much trouble and they agreed to take mum in.On entry to the home there was a reptile in a tank, canary in a cage, fish tank all for the residents to interact with sadly with the change of management this all but disappeared. The Dementia unit was very forward thinking Mum wasn't the easiest resident there she had her good days and her bad ones staff were exceptional and when mum passed they worked above and beyond. The down side to all this Mums wedding ring was removed from her finger as she lost weight and put in to safe keeping but sadly this has gone missing which has put a damper on her stay here and at her funeral we had NO representation from the home at all very sad....

Would definitely recommend. Before a relative lived here had a real fear of care homes. Four years on would definitely recommend. A clean modern environment with a genuinely caring, friendly and compassionate team. Known by the family as the Orchid Hotel as the resident areas feel like a Premier Inn.

Amazing care home. Not just the great infrastructure and cheerful staff but you can feel a happy spirit everywhere you turn in the home. And there is the amazing activity team that support and engage the residence like they live in their own house and normal life- swimming, songs , plays , walk in the park and visits to the supermarket. Just absolute fantastic.

I chose this home based on a visit. The staff were friendly but professional and I was made welcome. Dad transferred from hospital in 2016 after having lived with me for four years, he was 89 years old. I knew his needs well. The manager at the time was very reassuring and I was relieved to find somewhere that would give the level of care dad needed in pleasant surroundings.Although staff came and went after the first couple of years, I understood how difficult it must be to keep quality staff particularly with levels of pay being as they are. However, I felt I could approach the home with any concerns which I did from time to time and if necessary, have a meeting to discuss them. My father’s behaviour at times was proving to be difficult but the local authority social workers, NHS mental health team and the care home mangers/nurses were willing to support my father and with consultation with me find the best way to approach the hurdles. He also was tended to by a wonderful individual carer from an agency which the home maintained for a long time up until my father died last year from a deterioration of his dementia. The home has an excellent activities regime run by volunteers who have an abundance of love and kindness to give to the residents. Plus, patience and they certainly needed that with my dad.The rooms and community areas, toilet facilities are constantly being cleaned. The reception area has always got a good staff presence and I found them to be exceptionally understanding and they understood when you were having a difficult visit with your loved one. Plus, when phoning the home, you could always speak to someone who could help you with whatever your concern was.So Orchid Care Home was a big part of my life for four years when they took over the reins from a daughter who wanted the best for her dad and knowing they would care for him once I had left, had taken a great burden off my mind. I cannot thank them enough for this.
