Branksome Dene Beach
Good dog friendly beach. A stretch of beach is approx 1km which allow dogs on, nice sandy beach which doesn’t seem to be a problem to get on even at high tide. We parked in the car park just close by and this was pay by card, cash or app. Spent approx 1hr here just wish we had a bit more beach we could have walked on, but the dogs enjoyed it and there is a cafe to get an ice cream from.

Lovely sandy beach. The water was clean when visited and not too busy.We were able to respect the social distancing rules and card payment only for ice cream. From where we were, we could see the Bournemouth pier very busy in contrast.Facilities at the beach:Shower, public toilet, Ice cream seller, pay and display car park, surf an paddle board hire, surf lessons, holiday home hire. There is some benches and grass too.Highly recommended for family.Unfortunately there was no wheelchair accessible from our location only stairs to go down to the beach. There are loads of bins and recycling bins available which was really good.

Great beach for dog walking. Mile after mile of sandy beaches. Parking is a bit expensive though. £2.50ph.

Very nice sandy beach with a bunch of nice places to grab food and drinks. Tip: park at the top of the steps as it’s free and you can have a beautiful short walk down to the beach!

One of our favourite areas to visit. Unfortunately our day to the beach was upsetting at times. We obviously chose the dog allowed area...this meant watching dogs pooping everywhere & peeing on children's sandcastles! If dogs are allowed perhaps there should be a time restriction it looked the worst environmental health issue!!

Bournemouth beaches are all beautiful but loved the rocks jutting into the sea at Branksome. Gave it that something else. Branksome has also the benefit of having a small carpark which does mean it is less busy. In height of season that does cost you £2 an hour but its worth it. The river walk is also just across the road. A cafe is on the beach there that overlooks the sea. Lovely place. Highly recommended.

It’s nice, great that you can park right next to the beach, which on a dull and moody day during the summer is fairly easy! Expensive charges for parking £2.20 for an hr!! It’s a nice beach here. There is a lifeguard on hand should you need them. The beach huts here are pretty dire and to be honest let the area down. They look like 60’s London Council Blocks. There are some wooden beach huts. Again look tired and let the area down. On the upside/downside depending on how you look at it is that the new BBQ stations have been installed. I would imagine the beach restaurants are going to suffer as a consequence which I can but help wonder what will become of those units, will it further degrade the area? Anyhow a bit of a mixed bag. It needs money spent on it, more than a BBQ is going to fix! What is nice they have added a fake sand dune and begun growing grass on it. It looks nice and it really does add to the aesthetic of the area! Also a bit of an Instagram picture place! All in all I don’t think the council maximises on what this area could be and look like! It’s a shame. Still it’s nice, beach is clean. Parking is expensive!!

Arrived at 8.30am so car park relatively empty. Plenty of spaces, £2.20 for one hour which was enough time to give dog a play in the sea. Beach lovely and clean. Steps down to get to the beach.

Visited in February. Beautiful, peaceful beach. Parked at the nearby car park which is right on the beachfront. Very clean but this bit has lots of dogs. I didn’t realise until reading other reviews that there are no-dog stretches. Next time I’d probably sit there instead.
