Mother's Pride all sliced. Oatcakes and a pair of Empire biscuits. I presume Mackay was the owner who served me. Places such as this in an area so remote and stunningly beautiful to be run by such warm and gentle folk is what restores my faith in humanity! A PIECE OF JOY TO SHOP AT!! SLAINTE!

I've been visiting Kinlochbervie with my family, since as I was a young boy in 1973, when I stayed in a caravan with the Chatten's at Polin Beach. Mr Mackay was behind the counter then with his elderly mother and he is still running the store almost 50 years later.He never takes a day off, never has a holiday and he remembers everyone, no matter how much time has past.He's a remarkable man is Mr Mackay.
