Wing Hong - Supermarket

First time walking into an Asian supermarket, place was filthy, staff watched me like a hawk and made me feel unwelcome, it was like they never seen a white person before. I went in with the intention of buying something but ended up just walking out.

Good location but seems to have become a lot sparser since I visited a few years ago. Something is not right. For a traditional Oriental supermarket, empty spaces on the shelves just do not look right.

Wide selection of Asian ingredients especially Chinese. Friendly prices. But still hard to find some products from Japan and Korea.

Has a reasonable selection of goods for a small supermarket including fresh pastries, roasts and seafood. Beware of being stung with prices approximately 10% higher than displayed though. I pointed this out to the cashier and instead of offering to refund the difference she said I could return the goods for a full refund or accept the higher till price. Not possible to check this with her supervisor either when asked. I understand merchants have no obligation to sell if there is an obvious pricing error (e.g. if a whole lobster is mislabelled as £2 instead of £20) but these small differences are misleading to customers. I could afford the higher price of £1.50 or so for my basket of shopping but returned everything on principle when the cashier refused to budge. If I had taken a picture of the receipt as proof I would have enquired with Newcastle Trading Standards.

Handy Chinese supermarket. Been here for years and still great. Has chilled section and vegetables as well. Now looking a bit dated when compared to the new one up at the other end of the China town area near eldon but great place.

Excellent selection of Asian foods at reasonable prices too. We shop here regularly and we can get everything we want for cooking delicious Asian cuisine.

Used to work there. Sunday was their busiest day. Only 1 day off and they paid your wages from the till!. Horrible company to work for!!!.

Brilliant. So many new things to try. For fresh food get there early, excellent selection of all you fav ingredients. Staff are lovely and friendly. Card payments on £5 or more only

Good selection of Chinese ingredients and realy well priced!

Good central location. Excellent selection of goods fresh and frozen.
