They mean well, they are professional and helpful. However they can only push the agenda laid out to them, and it seems to me that these agendas have been constructed by people who have clearly never suffered with mental health problems themselves.

A truly awful service. My partner was referred at the end of last year and they've spoken to him once, we've reached out a couple of times and everyone we've spoken to has had something different to say, no one can decide if he needs medication or not and they've now discarded him back to the gp (who in themselves are less than helpful) at this point he's seriously thinking about having hemself sectioned or trying to kill himself because that seems to be the only way to get them to take him seriously.

The sooner they get closed down the better. Just had a snotty girl on the phone book an appointment despite me saying in was at a time that would mean my carer taking unpaid time of work yet again. Nearly half the times Iv attended appointments Iv got there only to find them canceled. Im told if I want a diagnoses of my condition then I need to pay for it privately. Once again the nurse I spoke to couldnt be bothered to read my doctors referral or notes. Ended up with being asked did I want to cancel my appointment which I did.

I recieved a letter in post to explain to call by friday 21st december to confirm my appointment mid january.I called julian hospital up to say I still wanted to be in contact with my psychologist after being placed on hold a couple of mins, the receptionist asked for my contact number ,i did explain who i named my psychologist had my mobile number, gave it anyway. So I thought was fine as left details with the receptionist who even recalled my name without prompting.Even though i called by the deadline at 2.20pm I recieved a letter the following morning from my psychologist to say my care is being refered back to my GP!!!& my appointment is not longer valid. i am frustrated as I rang as explained .The receptionist who took my details by phone clearly had Not passed them on to my care worker .as they not open weekends,Ive had to wait worrying out my mind :( . I now have to ring to try and find out what happened.AND ITS CHRISTMAS EVE ! ive been so anxious about this , considering its mental health services .the telephone number my psycholigst gave me isnt a direct line to her &havent got a email for her either, only the reception number . my psychologist isnt ever available to speak to as busy with other clients .feel like Im being punished .Ive now lost my faith in the staff .its not exactly rocket science to transfer a messege on :( VERY DISAPPOINTED & ANNOYED .I havent been sleeping because of stress to make matters worse .

My wife was referred to the hospital by our doctor in late October. We received a letter on 5th of December to tell us that it would take 12 weeks to get an appointment. At the end of January I phoned the hospital to find out how much longer we had to wait. The person I spoke to was not at all helpful. We eventually got an appointment on 10th February. My wife was assessed and we were told she was suffering with Altzeimers. We were told the paperwork would go through to the person who deals with the medication it would take 2 weeks to be sorted. After 3 weeks I phoned to see what was going on. I got no satisfaction. I called again 2 days later still nothing. Eventually I was called and told my wife would get her medication on 27th March. It has taken 4 months to get satisfaction and I think it is absolutely disgusting for people to be treated this way. If all their patients are dealt with the same way then God help us all

These so called professionals leave a lot to be desired. First of all my old CPN John Setter lies in my records saying he visited monthly. Then after suffering two strokes & we call an ambulance ,he turns it down !( FAST- I don’t think so !) lack of experience again -Even the company now having won the bid for looking after the Er chords didn’t bother even though we pulled the chord twice according to records gained from solicitors ,so much for sheltered council accommodation. Luckily a man from the ambulance service over rid them sending assistance eventually . If he hadn’t I might not be writing this now & yet another cover up from Norfolk & Suffolk foundation Trust at an inquest. No wonder it’s always & only them that are ‘in special measures’ .Once in the N & N University Hospital my nightmare was far from over . Two of their team arrived with a dirty pair of jeans, just the one sock & 20 pair of pants & five books when I couldn’t even read after the strokes !I had social workers lying saying they were there to interview me about missing Jewry & I later find out they have done a mental health assessment saying I lacked ‘mental capacity’. Another saying they’d been to see me two weeks previously but hadn’t . A Jr Stroke Doctor on the acute stroke bay sectioned me because ‘they thought’ “I must think I had special powers, having stopped a car to cross the road as I was in a hurry to get home ,make sure my therapy dog wasn’t locked in the kitchen , get clean clothes . Turn the electricity & gas off . Make the bungalow safe as it was just left.Hiding her name & her afterwards, with the assistance of management she wrote in my notes “I was too violent to be told or given a 3 day section paper”. Yet I was on the ward with Chaplin present . If it wasn’t for a kind ,caring and honest Philippine nurse who told me what she’d written in my notes I’d have been none the wiser.I was also put on a deprivation of liberties order- again no notification! A security guard even tried telling me “doctors could legally prescribe cigarettes to smokers if they were allergic to patches “as I complained some nurses were taking patients down to the front of the building for cigarettes & coming back stinking of smoke -despite the no smoking policy implemented their . Of course he was lying & a shame he didn’t do anything about the drug dealing going on out front too !Sadly I blame Social Services , & The City psychiatric team , only having met a John Setter , a Dr Roger kingerlee & another C.P.N ,Karen O’Flanagan who was feared speaking out for this whole nightmare that further traumatised us - one of the fearful experiences of my life . Now forever mistrustful of people who work for this Trust ,especially as I’ve found out from my solicitors the real reason was “ they couldn’t find a care agency soon enough so I was seen as a bed blocker“I will never ever trust another Dr , Psychiatric worker or social worker ever again . Being sent away gave them time so ‘they‘ could carry out another ‘cover up job’ . Not their first or last ending ashamedly in many unnecessary deaths. What was recommended by 2 experts as being the way to recover is slowly being dismantled by a Dr kingerlee with conversations concerning “expenses” not even applied for to date &”hospital admissions” (long ago it was agreed “Hospital was not a place for someone with my conditions “) . Supposed to be their in a crisis?! - Never mind a crisis they are just never their full stop .I’d never turn to any of them as I look at getting the right to die with dignity legal in the Uk . Got mental health issues ? Then you will seriously have more if you live in Norwich .

As mental health services go this is standard. Blickling Ward is clean and bright, wasn't allowed in the bedroom so can't comment but no ensuite. Staff varied, some were kind and caring, happy to engage others looked bored and hardly spoke. Disappointed that they let a depressed person stay in her room all day on her own, hardly eating or drinking, would hope the qualified nurses would be better at dealing with mentally ill patients. After 14 weeks there was an improvement but not the outcome we'd hoped for (at least she wasn't rushed to A&E after having cardiac arrest like last year in Julian ward!) consultant was very good, wish he could keep treating her after discharge but it doesn't work that way unfortunately.

Sent an email in April to find out what was going on with receiving support and have heard nothing back other than psychology has been hassled". 3 months later sitting quietly has not paid off. Last time I saw someone for assessment was October last year. In that time I have heard more than 3 people I knew now dead to suicide. Over 10 years I have lost count now how many friends and acquaintances I have known are now no longer with us. All we are is another statistic for the mental health team in this country.Wellbeing dont help if you drink
