The Old Farmhouse

So after booking this property for one evening I read the reviews and was a little apprehensive about my stay at the room/apartment. HOWEVER the use of the small space was impeccable! The apartment - I say apartment as it's a small conversion which consists of one double, compact bedroom with an ensuite and downstairs has a small kitchen area with a sofa...so it was like a little home...anyhow, it's was very clean and welcoming but there are a few niggles I had during my stay. Firstly I'd like to point out the ensuite - this had no, or little extraction of the condensation produced by the shower meaning everything felt damp and it took a long time to clear, the shower would splash everywhere and into the bedroom, which meant the bottom left of the bed got a tad damp, there was a slight sight of mould in the bathroom too which I can only assume is because of lack of airflow, there's a smell of damp in the apartment however this is probably due to the above reasons and the fact that the property is old (but stunning). The fridge did wake me up but as mentioned in the welcome letter, turning it off wasn't an issue! Overall I'd visit again, parking was easy but was a pain to get out due to other cars passing which isn't the host's fault, a post office over the road, a well established pub nearby too and a very lovely fish and chip shop about 10 minutes down the road! Honestly I'd recommend this place, and if the above issues were looked into, I honestly believe that this place would thrive even moreso!Thank you for having us!

We stayed twice last year both occasions for 2 nights, different rooms each time we stayed - both lush! Owners lovely and accommodating, 10/10 for cleanliness freshest rooms I’ve ever stayed in, beds comfy, amazing showers, bedding smelt as if it was fresh off the washing line (best smell ever), rooms were comfy and cosy so clean and tidy and smelt lovely. Fresh towels daily, toiletries provided, cute location with a nice lake/river nearby - lovely for an evening stroll. Strong 10/10, such a beautiful lovely place to stay cannot recommend enough and cannot wait to stay again!!

Really great experience. We booked the room through Bookings.com at a last minute urgency. A couple travelling with a 1 year old baby and were welcomed to a very clean and tidy place. The rooms have their own entrance door and parking available right next to the room. Great size and great communication from the site to help us settle in at such a last minute. Great location from airport and Bristol City Centre in a beautiful and quite area. A very private, comfy, cosy and welcoming accomodation especially at such a last minute booking. Regards, Ed.

Excellent stay - lovely room that was modern and clean. Super bathroom with heated rail and large shower. No problems with room temperature as others have mentioned - there is a heater in room which heats up the room nicely in no time at all. Owner was very welcoming and helpful. Excellent pub few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay here again.

Stay was pleasant, a few issues need to be raised.1: Horrible smell of sewerage after having a shower (lingered all day)2: There was a dirty cloth left by the welcome book (we have not touched)3: Kettle full of lime scale therefore unusable (boiled half a kettle poured into sink and and bits of limescale came out in the sink)4: blood stains on pillow cases and duvet cover indicating these sheets are not clean also grey pillow had some stainsThese above are complaints but would also advise curtains are changed as they are too long and are an extreme trip hazard (have tripped over them many times)In guest book states takeaways are not permitted due to possible spillages yet this was not mentioned at point of booking (booking.com site)Other than the above, room was quiet, water pressure outstanding, room warmed up very quickly.

It is a bed n breakfast, not a hotel.Beautiful place, great shower, plenty space, comfortable bedding,a little bar fridge to keep water cold which was really nice.. But the TV reception is terrible though, couldn't get one channel, so you're better off using a laptop and your Netflix.. But you get free WiFi, I mean for the most part it's definitely worth the stay, I'd definitely recommend the stay but if you're not one for early checkout then you'll not enjoy it.

Biked this room as a last minute decision for new years eve with my partner. We firstly would like to say there is absolutely no lights outside its pitch black and no signs to locate or on the premises. The parking wasn't the best. Very narrow road and we had to park a fair distance away. We got our key code emailed to us, lucky we checked really as there is no signal its awful. Not the owners fault at all just pointing out. We arrived to a FREEZING cold room, it was beyond a joke. It maybe a suggestion to turn the heater on before guests arrive as had we had our baby with us I would of been furious at how cold it was. For £80 there is minimal room, very small however that didn't bother us to much as we weren't in there for too long as we headed into Bristol. Wanted to have a shower, absolutely no chance we left the water running for well over 5 minutes and there is no hot water. None. So no heat, no hot water in an old stone building..... Not worth £80. The room was not soundproof we heard the planes and again not the owners fault but don't advertise as sound proof when they aren't. Sadly I won't return and won't be recommending this b and b. Owners were nowhere to be seen

After booking and cancelling pretty much immediately due to circumstances. The owner still took full payment of £100. I called the lady in tears. She didn't care, was really unpleasant on the phone. Took great pleasure out of taking my money when she had already booked up that room so wasn't losing anything with me having to cancelling. She promised she would call me back when I asked if at least I could change the date so I don't lose my money. She blocked my number and when I called off another number she put the phone down. This woman is awful how anyone can do this to someone over Christmas when I explained my circumstances I will never know. No heart. Money grabber.

The old farmhouse was DIVINE. We had to book literally so last minute, we phoned up and the very polite and accommodating woman the other end really helped us get checked in and sorted hastily.Once we got inside it was the cutest, quaint little farmhouse rooms. Fresh bedding linen throughout. Tea/Coffee, biscuits. The place itself was spotless. Cannot thank the owners enough for sorting both myself and fiancé out such short notice. Highly recommend! We shall be back!
