Abbott-Wade Staircases

From the start of the process, we felt that we were listened to by a team of professionals. That was important as this was a significant investment for us. We had to wait a little time for the fitting team and waited patiently in anticipation. Brilliant fitting team - well organised and they just got on the the job - result is quite superb - we are delighted. A very, very easy recommend from us.

We called Abbott-Wade and within a week Ray came over to give us some initial ideas and options. We were not fully decided on which finish in terms of colour and whether we were going to opt for a wooden handrail or in fact a stainless steel one (which is what we eventually went for). However, thanks to Ray, he gave us so many examples and sent many pictures as well as leaving us the samples that allowed us to make an informed decision. Ray was with us every step of the way and was so helpful on the phone, in person and through text messages via WhatsApp. At no point at all was Ray pushy and trying to force a sale through, he was more interested in making sure we were happy and were going to choose something that we really would be over the moon with once it was done. We had other companies, both local and national come to give us a price and go through their samples but Abbott Wade was not only the best price but they were the most approachable and in our opinion the best all round company. We then had a surveyor, Joe come out to survey and like Ray, he was friendly, helpful and reassuring as to what the process would be. He gave us an idea as to what the final staircase would look like and also gave us some very useful and helpful tips in how to incorporate the lighting into the strings. We cannot forget about Lana, Eddie and Rachel in the office who gel everything together. It is always a pleasure speaking to every member of the office team. They are all so friendly, helpful and their customer service skills are excellent. Having a team like that is so important as they keep you informed and are also very knowledgable in the sense that they know what everyone else is doing (you do get some companies who don’t know what is going on and they keep you waiting for days with no answers). They are so easy to get on with and always love the conversations on the phone with them. Then we come to the workmanship - Jason and Jake were magnificent. It was a pleasure having them over to do the work as they were really friendly and professional. I do need to point out here that Jason deserves a special mention, he is so unbelievably good at his job and to top it off he is such a nice person. Jake is also so nice and friendly and hard working. The guys made sure my floor was protecting and at all times our house was always kept tidy. All the rubbish was taken away and the guys cleaned after themselves (unlike some other companies) My overall amazement as to how great the staircase looks is a huge compliment to the whole team. Every point of the job was done when and how they said it would be and I was always informed. So I need to finish off by saying thank you very much to each and every single one of the team - you have all between you provided me which a statement in my home in the form of a wonderful, classy and stylish staircase - all done in great spirits with wonderful individuals!

I’ve experienced fantastic service, professionalism and authenticity from everyone at Abbott-Wade Staircases. From the first consultation(I won’t call it a sales call because I was listened to, not sold to), the survey to the installation by Jake and Mike; I’ve been delighted. The final design is stunning and installation was fuss free. I’m a very happy customer who’s loving my new stairs!

We ordered a complete new stairs from Abbott-Wade.The fitters arrived and within an hour the old stairs had gone, half an hour later the fitter came in and explained that, due to human error on input to the manufacturing computer, the new stairs had been manufactured to the wrong measurements. They explained they would temporarily fit the stairs and then travel all the way back to the factory in Warrington to pick up the new stairs and fit them the next day. I should say we live in the midlands so Warrington is circa 100 miles one way. True to his word he appeared before 8am the next day with a new set of stairs which were fitted before midday. Everything was carried out with no fuss and they ensured everything was kept as clean as possible.We did have another small problem which still need solving, namely our old stairs had a normal step at the top leading onto 3 winders and Abbot Wade suggested the new top step should also be a winder thus making a more natural flow when walking up / down. I must say in practice they were right. However when implemented this meant the new winder overhung from the hall ceiling. After a couple of conversations with Abbott Wade they sent in a couple for joiners who did a superb job in boxing in the overhang to make it look as if the staircase had been in place for ever. Finally because we had to have a plasterer in before fitting the beading etc Abbott Wade had to make a third visit before completion.All the above probably sounds quite a lot of hassle but Abbott Wade and that included everyone I dealt with, were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and you just new everything was going to be finished to the highest standards. I throughly recommend this company, their friendliness and how they go about solving problems is just amazing and certainly not usual in this day and age. Oh and I haven’t even mentioned the competitive price!

Abbott Wade installed oak and glass bannisters in our house recently and they are just fabulous.All ran seemlessly, from the initial meeting with their salesman, measuring up and then the fitters' arrival to the minute they left. I encountered barely any disruption.Lee and the chaps were great - turned up early each day and worked tirelessly for 3 days. All very friendly and professional.They left no mess at all (well apart from the dust, but that's expected) - disposing of all the old bannisters and other debris.Thanks also to Lana who handled all the admin and couldn't have been more helpful.They have transformed our house into a home and we love it.Thank you!

Didn't even get as far as a visit, just emails pushy and downright unprofessional when declined services. Sending out quotes is part of the job so why be so offended when it's not part of someone's budget? I think seriously about putting negative reviews on , however on this occasion its warranted.

Can’t say enough good things about Mike Wade and his team. We have just had a full staircase replaced and the job is amazing. They arrived on time, delivered exactly what we asked for and left the place in a cracking condition. Looks absolutely amazing. Thanks sooooo much. Would definitely use Abbott Wade again and recommend others do too.

Great craftsmanship but beware of the sales pitch!We had our stairs fitted by Lewis and Ellis who were fantastic, they are great craftsmen, clean workers and very polite. Our stairs look beautiful and we are very happy with the end result. Unfortunately, in hindsight, we were less than impressed by the initial part of the process. Our sales consultant was Max, he was very nice to deal when we met him with however there were some key conditions that were promised to us by Max that were simply not met once he had clinched the sale. This was extremely disappointing to us because the conditions offered by Max influenced us to place our business with Abbott Wade instead of their competitors Neville Johnson. It has left a bad taste in mouth having agreed something upfront, only to be told 8 weeks down the line when the work has been completed, that we cannot have what we were promised unless we pay an additional 10% above the agreed price. Whilst we have raised these issues with Abbot Wade directly, and have been assured that our concerns will be taken forward and dealt with, it certainly took the shine off what would have otherwise been a brilliant experience.

Abbotwade completed a glass and oak staircase in November 2021, the lads were great, in fact everything from the first visit to look at the job to aftercare could not be faulted.We recently needed to contact them regarding damage to the hand rail, not caused by the installation, again they were first class, sent a team round to look at the damage and put it right, we fully expected to be charged for this and they had every right to do so but as they had a team in the area they didn’t, there’s many companies out there that would have.They were not the cheapest quote but we believe they are the best, after an initial deposit final payment was only expected after the job was complete and when we were totally happy with the results.They removed the old bannister from site, we’re clean and tidy, we cannot recommend this company more and would recommend them to anyone thinking of renewing their stairs.
