I'll start with the positives which are excellent prices for top tier lagers; £3.30 compared to Wetherspoons £3.49.The place is recently refurbished and you can tell, aside from the bathrooms it's a very clean place: bathrooms are mediocre clean.Bar staff can massively vary depending on who serves you... the young lad is sound, the young lass is sound, but then the older women are effing brutal; one even going as far as to throw a regulars can of coke in the bin without any warning because they didn't sell it there... no compromise was offered.There has been several instances, I've witnessed, in which the staff have disagreed with the patrons; I won't be returning because a lot of the time the judgements are unfair and usually end in bad customer service. This is a place that will give you all the second chances you need but doesn't allow leighway on the first chance.... their way or the highway...Didn't stay overnight, but I feel sorry for those who stay overnight on the weekend.

Great little pub. Superb for football games, excellent priced drinks but quality varies from time to time. Don't think they bin the first few pints out of the line when it's changed, not great at times.But all staff very friendly, efficient and served in no time.

This is a great place to meet new people the staff are really friendly especially Joe she's lovely she really nice please come and enjoy a drink at Hoptimist pub in Stockton they have really room if you fancy a night in Stockton rent a room at the Hoptimist they are really cheap come see for yourself

If you looking for a place to stay I do not recommend this place the staff isn't sociable or even know what to do, and when manager came to assist us she was very ignorant and not very professional, I would give zero stars if it allowed me but u can. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, AND WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Massive over haul from the old Garrick.Much smarter and played good music all night.Had Karaoke on which was a good laugh.Good atmosphere.

A very nice room only pub, good beer, great staff, the room we had was nice and the bed was very comfortable, we stayed here as it was a easy taxi ride to where we needed to be, the selection of beer, was very good and well priced.We shall stay here again.

The lady who owns it is pure evil she kicked 8 people out when I was there she's a liar and the wifi is terrible and the rooms are very dirty please do not stay in this place
