Singing Chris Vocal Coach

Chris is a phenomenal teacher who has transformed me as a singer, but also as a musician.I came to Chris for singing lessons when I joined a newly formed rock band as bassist. They were still looking for a singer so, because I had done a bit of backing vocals in the past, I was appointed as temporary lead singer. Even though it was supposed to be short term, I was terrified. As a child I’d been told I was tone deaf and was embarrassed by the sounds coming out of my mouth! I was OK singing backing when somebody else provided a guide but I couldn’t hold a tune by myself.Chris has that great combination of an in-depth knowledge of the subject, enthusiasm, patience and care that makes a really great teacher.I was amazed how, right from the first lesson, the application of the techniques and exercises he taught me led to tangible improvements. It’s funny how even someone like me, who’s been playing music for over 40 years, fails to realise that the voice is an instrument just like any other. That means that given the correct tuition there’s scope for tremendous improvement, no matter what your age. Chris has certainly provided that for me.Over the year or so that I’ve been taught by Chris my progress has astounded me - and the other members of the band! Chris has extended my vocal range and I can comfortably reach notes I never would have dreamed about before. Songs I came to him that I felt were impossible now feel so easy that I wonder why I ever feared them.Chris has worked wonders. I now share lead vocal duties in the new band I’m in and have been gigging with confidence. I can’t recommend him enough.
