If angels are walking on earth then I met some today.After some fairly horrible recent dental treatment at a different practise I had been reffered to Derriford for a tooth extraction after a failed attempt due to nerve damage,decay, when I phoned to find out what was going on as I was in agony I was told I had a 7 week wait.I'm sure anyone who has had nerve damage in a tooth can relate to the sheer agony I was feeling, I spent the morning off work on the phone trying to get an emergency appointment.I phoned Debbie and received positive and thoughtful attention for my problem, she talked me through everything, put me completely at ease and got me booked in for an appointment for the same day!!!! It was amazing.I was able to go back to work for the afternoon knowing it could be sorted without going to hospital.When I got there Debbie welcomed me in and Tony met me with a handshake,he went through everything with me before he did my extraction.Tony the dentist was AMAZING, a warm manner that was professional and calming and his nurse was just the same.They managed to do what another dentist couldn't at a very good price that didn't mean christmas would be cancelled (I believe good customer service is priceless) they even had groovy music to tap along to whilst he was doing his job.Thank you to you all, you have made me able to get on with life again after 2 and a half weeks of pain and no sleep!I learnt today that when you have a dentist who knows what they are doing you don't need to feel anxious. Amazing dental practice! I have been coming to this practice for many years with my children and it has vastly improved in the last few years. You'll receive a friendly welcome from the reception who are also incredibly helpful too. The dentist we see is so kind and gentle and she explains everything which has been great for my daughter who was a nervous patient but who now feels more relaxed about going! Also a mention to the new therapist and dental nurses who are fabulous too and make the whole experience as pleasant as it can be!! Would highly recommend!

I moved to this practice a few years ago and wish I had done so sooner. Tony treats me and my children and I can honestly say he is fantastic. His dental nurse is also amazing and Debbie at reception is lovely and a real asset to the team and running of the clinic.

So glad others are getting great care. I booked a check up for 18 months time. Two fillings came out and the appointment was brought forward, still needing to wait 3 months. On the day of the appointment I get a call to say the dentist is sick so it's cancelled and moved to October. Only when I raise concern as I am in a level of discomfort as a result, I then get told we will have to cancel other people's .ppointments to fit you in sooner. The receptionist could see nothing wrong with this system, nor could the practise manager. A very poor system, making it my fault other people have to be told to wait as long when they should have at least kept the appointment in May. After all, even if I did attend I would have had to come back again as the first appointment is only used to assess the situation

Was referred from a practice in Plymouth for an emergency appointment to have a tooth removed as my dentist in Plymouth as my dentist in Plymouth had no appointments for me and I was in agony. My partner was at work so I got a taxi out from Plymouth to Tavistock. When I went in to the practice they was fully aware I needed my wisdom tooth removed. Ask My Dentist if I would’ve told them this. I sat in the chair as they asked me to and then they told me they could not remove the tooth as they had no stitches in their office and they may need them. They knew they had no stitches before I come all the way from Plymouth so why did they say they could see me an offer me the appointment. I could of saved myself a trip and the price of a taxi but to top it all off I was still charged for my appointment because I had sat in the dental chair. Apparently the moment you sit in the chair you need to pay for that appointment. They could’ve told me all this before I even got to Tavistock, but then, even if they did forget, they could’ve at least told me before sat in the chair. It was only £38. I had to pay them but I had to pay £38 for nothing plus the taxi there and taxi fare back. This visit cost me around £100 and It was all for nothing I was still in pain. So thank you Tavistock dental clinic for ripping me off.I have since joined another practice in Plymouth, who is very reasonably priced and I have never been ripped off by them. I advise everybody if you have a choice of dentists do not choose these understandably if you’re under them is NHS I’ll stick with them because you don’t find NHS dentist anymore, but if anyone is looking for a new dentist, avoid at all cost, because if you sign up to these you may lose more than just your teeth!!

going to the dentist is never your first choice, but the whole experience was made better by the excellent and friendly staff and the professional caring service given.

Received amazing service from Chloe at my dentist! Chloe made me feel at ease and the work she did on my tooth was amazing! Would highly recommend! If I could give her more stars I would!

Very happy with Tony and team, myself and my partner wished we found a dentist like this years ago, we are definitely staying with them.
