Travelodge Shrewsbury Bayston Hill

Unfortunately there is nothing good to say about the place. Overpriced so dated that I thought I was in the 50s! The room was clean, but it was so tired and dated. Staff were great !

Perfect location and service from the staff. Travelodge rooms are, by today's standards, very basic. We appreciate that every costs are spiralling, but a heated towel rail used to be standard equipment.

Update on last stay. Staff friendly. Hotel needs badly updating. My shower was rotten and water was spraying out 3 holes on the arm holding the shower head. The carpet had lifted by the bathroom. The water pump repeated itself over and over all night. Doors are old and slammed by numpties at 0230. Carpet needs to be replaced and Cobb Webb's from side tables need to be removed. Bed was comfortable and pillows good.Food wise there is subway, burger king and Greggs in the petrol station. There is a Starbucks too. Plenty of parking. They say limited but there is plenty. This hotel like most of the services are forgotten about as they always look after the city centre hotels first. If I had a choice I would book Premier Inn but even they have had some issues lately. WC in hotel needs badly updating and sockets near bed with usb would be really handy.

Room had a bit tired decor and wasn't terribly clean. Ones facing the road are a bit noisy even with windows shut.

Rooms are dirty. Mould around the windows, stains on the carpets and lets hope you don’t need privacy as no locks on bathroom door. Outside room was what looked like pieces of the ceiling on the floor. When paying £90 a night you’d expect a half decent room

I'd like to highlight that the hotel was operational, tidy, and the staff displayed a welcoming and supportive demeanor.Regrettably, being a CPAP machine user, the absence of electrical outlets by the bedside left me without an option to connect my device. Despite my efforts to use the nearest socket, which proved unsuccessful, I had no choice but to check out of the hotel on the same evening and embark on a two and a half-hour drive back home, as the staff couldn't provide an extension cord.I couldn't cancel the reservation online, and a call to customer services didn't yield helpful results. Throughout my experiences staying in numerous hotels across the country for both business and leisure, I have never encountered such challenges. I'm confident in my decision to favour Premier Inn for my future stays.

The experience I was able to share with my family for the one night I was here was… interesting, to say the least. We booked the breakfast ahead of time, not being told what it was supposed to be, we’ll get to that later. The first thing we noticed when we entered the room was the bathroom without a lock. For four people, this was not on. We ordered a family room, and were surprised by the large double bed with two, shorter single mattresses beside it. I describe these as mattresses as we were given a blanket, pillow and nothing else. The charging ports were substantially far away from the beds, causing a lot of alarm problems between the four of us, and overall being a big concern when it came to our sleep pattern.Now, for the highlight of the trip. The ‘Breakfast Box’ was a surprising take on the average hotel breakfast. What was expected was a small, but still acceptable array of foods to choose from, almost like a buffet. What we received can only be described as a care package you’d give to a child on a school camping trip. We weren’t told this was what the breakfast was going to look like, and was surprised by its pricing of £5.50. For Cornflakes without sugar, a small carton of milk that we had to tear open, orange juice that wasn’t all that good, a soft and off tasting oat bar and a mediocre pan au chocolat, we were beyond disappointed.Overall, this tarnished our desire for another Travelodge experience, and I could only hope you find a better hotel to stay at for your holiday or work trip.

I now know why I normally pay a like extra for a Premier Inn room !No adjoining restaurant, room not cleaned fully beforehand, a nut found on the floor, dirt behind doors!! En-suite door did not close without slamming, soap dispenser empty. Bed sheets small did tuck-in at top and rucked up during the night.The first room we where offered was directly about the smoking area, windows open. Lady on reception was first class regards changing the room I must say . Company clearly not aware that smoking areas should be away from windows.

Scruffy rooms ,funky smell !! No sockets next to bed !! It's noisy and can hear traffic all night
