I took an historical family document to Arthur and Anna to strengthen and protect for the future.They did a fantastic job in strengthening the spine of the document and cover. Arthur also constructed a box to protect the document and included a removable tray so as to open the document easily and safely.I had a 'Repair Shop' moment when I saw what they had done - amazing!!I would highly recommend Green's Books

I had a small book over 100 years old that was in serious state of disrepair with the cover falling apart and pages coming out. I use this small book as a support tool in lectures I give. Arthur and his assistant have done a super job dismantling and then reassembling it completely and the actual repairs are hugely difficult to identify resulting in a book that looks its correct age but is in a very fine state of repair. Thank you

My husband's father had an old book that belonged to his father. It had no cover, and it had some handwritten items in it that he wanted to preserve. Green's Books did a sympathetic restoration to the book, preserving precisely what we requested. We are very pleased with the quality of work and would highly recommend Green's Books.

Just been on a one day introduction to Book Binding course. Arthur shares his wealth of knowledge on the fascinating history of book binding and then you get to make your own book all materials provided. Small classes, very friendly. Great Day - thoroughly recommend.

I bought the lifting knife and a leather covered steel block (small). The knife was on back order - so made to order for me. It took a couple of weeks but this was communicated to me. Very pleased with both. The block is heavy enough to keep the sections still when sewing them together - and small enough with rounded corners so does not get in the way to snag the thread. I have not used the lifting knife in anger yet, still waiting to restart a restoration project, but it is sharp and the handle well covered in leather so should be comfortable to use.

I recently attended the knife sharpening workshop at Green's Books. The course was well paced, taking us from the theory of sharpening, through a discussion of a variety of tools and finishing by making our own lifting knife. I found Arthur to be a really engaging tutor and I left feeling much more confident in how to care for my tools. Thoroughly recommend this course!

I attended an Archival Study Day at Lichfield last week, where Arthur of Green's Books delivered one of the sessions. Over the course of the two hour workshop, so much was covered and I feel far more knowledgeable now about all things bookbinding! The session was practical and incredibly informative, and was also hands-on as Arthur had bought a huge array of examples to discuss and for us to handle and examine. Overall a really exciting and worthwhile experience, and I would recommend Green's Books for any workshop or course delivery needs. You can tell he is hugely passionate about what he does and this enthusiasm rubbed off on all of us taking part. Thanks for a great session.

I enjoyed the 'Introduction to bookbinding' course immensely.Arthur was an excellent tutor - patient and most informative. The blend of historical insights, technical explanation and actually showing us how to 'make' a book was brilliant.
