Exceptional from start to finish! Highly recommend. From the moment we contacted NE Downing we were so impressed with the level of care. From the respectful and dignified collection of our loved one, the assistance with planning of the funeral, visits to the chapel of rest and then the final journey and service was perfect in every way. The celebrant Leila was just amazing and her words so touching you would think she had known our mother personally!! With the assistance of NED We gave our mother a wonderful send off, such and important part of the grieving process for families.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Used Downings recently for my husband's funeral. Excellent service from them, helpful, friendly staff. Everything that needed to be done was covered by them, and the day itself couldn't have gone better.Totally professional and very understanding of peoples needs. Dave Woodall took the service, again, excellent. All of this without breaking the bank. Absolutely couldn't have had better.

I contacted several funeral directors early may following my mom's passing late April. This was the only company that made that phone call feel like I was getting a quote for some building materials. After explaining circumstances I was passed to another colleague to repeat myself. No condolences off either. Name? Date of death? Place of death ? Do you have the slip ? Not going to be able to get quotes to you at this time of day (I didn't ask for it same day). Basically I called you around 530ish and I think you were ready to check out. But yeah it didn't feel great and I ended up going with FPGaunts who delivered a flawless service...and not that it was a deciding factor but it was also better value.

I wouldn't trust this company. I sent flowers for a funeral they were arranging. The flowers arrived at NE Downing's but they didn't transport them to the crematorium, and told me they had no responsibility for doing so. A funeral is such a sad time and this thoughtless behaviour can only compound the grief.
