Groin pain clinic

I had a mesh implant to repair an inguinal hernia in 2018 and after chronic systemic and local pain the colorectal surgeon who carried out the repair decided the mesh had to come out. He explained that explant surgery is more complex where the implant was laparoscopic and he identified Professor Aali Sheen to perform the surgery. Professor Sheen operated on me at the Spire Manchester Hospital in February 2022 and successfully removed my mesh laparoscopically, in one piece, and without complication. The sickening local pain in my groin has gone and I am waiting to see if the surgery helps alleviate my systemic pain issues. In any event it’s one more thing ticked off the list and I am so grateful to Professor Sheen for taking me on. I hope I won’t need help in the future from a surgeon of his specific experience and calibre, but if I ever do I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
