The Continental Hotel, Derby.

The experience was wonderful with the comfort of our room, to the politeness and helpfulness of the entire staff, both in the hotel itself and in the restaurant. The food was delicious. We highly recommend this place.

We were staying here for my husbands business trip for 2 nights. The lift was out of service and our room was very hot with no air conditioning while the bed was like sleeping on a hard wooden floor, the door also did not lock from the inside so we did not get a good nights sleep. Someone’s car was smashed into in their car park during the night. Shower pressure was next to none and we weren’t given a menu for breakfast only offered a ‘full English’ which I also was not impressed with. We did not want to stay here for another night so requested a refund for the second night we had paid for which they refused to redeem. Just avoid!

Great hospitality and a very friendly staff, delicious breakfast fast and cozy rooms , definitely I will come back especially for the restaurant. ;)

Awful hotel. Not the greatest location bit of a walk to town and not the nicest walk. Their employees or ones of the adjoining restaurant have no regard for guests, they were singing talking and laughing loudly from 1am to 4am out the back by our room which kept us awake. Room was too warm but having the window open meant hearing them. Bathroom door didn't shut, breakfast cold. I wanted a part refund as we were not impressed and exhausted from no sleep, no chance of that!! Stay somewhere else!!!

We've stayed there few times already during BTCC and always been happy with the place so we were coming back. This weekend we received room which was in completely rubbish condition. Firstly we cannot lock the room from the inside, cabinets were falling apart, ceiling wallpaper hanging down, mouldy silicone around bathroom, toilet seat loose, light over the mirror cracked, bath cover cracked with sharp edges and much more. Complete disaster. Worst breakfast I've ever tasted, we were having a bootle of champagne but no chance for bucket of ice as they don't have any. Just avoid!

The hotel lobby and dinning area is pleasent and welcoming, the rooms are not. With the warm weather there was no air con and no fan, the decor in the rooms was of poor standard.The food is average and breakfast was simple. Off Note, the sausages were rubbery and had no flavour.

We stayed for one night on way home from Lake district, staff very friendly and helpful. Room comfortable breakfast adequate. Evening meal was lovely.
