Bought a poorly kitten, got me straight in for an appointment same day I rang, the woman who seen me can't remember her name but she was very knowledgeable knew what was wrong right away gave me all the antibiotics and medication I needed walked me through everything I needed to do which was helpful as he is my first pet, did not try to get as much money as they could from me by sending him for random tests, now got a happy full of life fluffy little nutter

We have always been seen quickly and find the staff and Stephen the vet friendly and thorough. Even on a Sunday our cat had a nasty accident and we were able to take her to the Barnsley branch immediately...so for me Abbey Vets are great.

Abbey Vets in Deepcar is the best Vets I have ever visited. The vet, nurse and receptionist are always friendly and polite, they always remember my pets names and ask how my other pets are. They make me feel at ease straight away. Excellent 10/10

Calling round for prices for 4 cats spaying/neutered plus vaccinations today.... the young lady (who was alone answering calls) couldn’t have been more lovely and informative! .... especially compared to some of the other places I called.... who I suspect, from their behaviour/telephone manner, wouldn’t know a cat from a giraffe!!This place is a little out of my way; but given the call handlers expertise, I’m prepared to make the trip! (Vets4pets previously spayed our old cat who died shortly after.... but not before they had fleeced us for a lot of £££!.... I did call them (accidentally; a different branch ) but their receptionist was appalling!)If the vets are anywhere near as good as the receptionist I’ll be extremely happy! That lady deserves a pay rise!!!!!

Stephen Capon - terrible vet, no love of animals apparent at all, first question you are asked when you walk in is are you insured". Then you get a monologue in no way related to your animals ailment designed to justify the consultation fee. Would never use again

We could not rate Abbey Vets high enough. We have always found the service to be great and have received nothing but excellent care and attention from all the vets and nurses who have seen and treated our pets. A fantastic veterinary practice.

We have recently moved to the area and when our cat became ill we brought her to Abbey Vets. I give a five star review even though unfortunately our cat died. We feel that she had been helped as much as was possible by everyone at Abbey vets. It seems that she had a number of ailments that all became apparent at once and was simply too much for her to take. We had taken her initially as she was losing weight and it was found that she had some cavities and would need some teeth removing. Whilst she was in for the surgery we were called prior to the surgery by them to advise on results of blood tests showing she had potential kidney disease and heart problems, it turned out she also had hyperthyroidism We were talked through all the options available to us and we decided to go through with the surgery and then treat for the illnesses. We began treatment but ultimately she couldn't fight them and passed away at home. The vets afterwards were lovely when I called to let them know what had happened and to dicuss the disposal of the medication. I felt like they care about the animals and genuinely want to help them. My other cats are now registered here also as I feel that the level of care was great.
