PureGym Leeds Hunslet

Visited puregym Hunslet the other day and I have to say that compared to the other puregyms I have been to, this one is disappointing. From 80% of the equipment being outdated to free weights all over the place and not in the correct place, dust all under the free weight rack, 4 machines out of order, only one water fountain which is all the way at the other side of the gym near the changing rooms, no attachments to be seen for the cables other than one rope and some handles... And not to forget there is a hight restriction upon entrance to the carpark so not great for vans.

Soon as I walked in the vibe was lovely!Paul the manager is absolutely a gem, really helped me get back to the gym with more knowledge and motivation.Really thankful because it’s nerve racking when you start again.Team is friendly also.

Pros: Clean, spacious, excellent variety of equipment from cardio to free weights and machines, good variety of classes, plenty of lockers, lots of parking, convenient location, affordable, good temperature even when it’s hot outside, and good music when you forget your headphones!Cons: Literally the only thing that bothers me about this gym is people not putting their weights back after use - I spend so much of my workout time searching for weights which are left on the barbells/machines and taking weights off equipment before I can use it. I feel it is a particularly bad problem in comparison to other PureGym branches I have used previously. Weights are rarely in or even near their correct place and are often just dumped on the floor. I appreciate that it is up to the members to replace weights, but I feel this could be enforced more. If this issue was sorted/improved, it would be a perfect gym!

It's a gym, a place to loathe or love, depending on your view of fitness I guess. But it's a decent one - it doesn't smell of a sweaty locker room, the staff are friendly, so too are the customers. The equipment is decent, clean and there's usually some free (early weekday mornings our standard visiting time). But there's always the issue of planks not doing that final lift" and returning their weights or bells to where they find them. That's hardly the gyms' fault but can be annoying!"

The gym is large and has good range of equipments. It also has public workout sessions which is a good way to introduce people to training.Friendly staff and friendly people in the gym.The gym could do better with the cleanliness and hygiene of the toilets. At times they are in a real bad shape.

They don't bother turning up the heating in winter.I can take outdated machines and constantly broken equipment. I can take them switching off treadmills to save electricity. What I cannot take is training in cold temperatures.Last year I didn't even have to wear a long sleeve during winter months. This year it's good luck to you if you're not wearing a thermal top and bottoms.Management seems to be focused on saving up as much money as possible to fund their fancy Christmas parties. Your discomfort = more money for the management and the directors. They don't care that colder temperature makes you more prone to injuries. Save money at all costs.

There are many lazy people who are unable to put the weights back in their place after use! They don't take care of the tools! Many people only use their phones while someone else is waiting for them! The toilet is dirty. You have a device that you have not used for more than a month!

The staff are very good there.They really do care about there clients or custumers. I was having some anxiety issues but the manager paul asked me to come see him and it was the best thing I ever did totally changed my mindset. I really love it there.
