Very friendly and affordable coffee shop and bookseller inside a fabulous old building with features ranging from medieval to gothic revival.

This medieval chapel is the oldest building in Buckingham. Built in the late 12th century as part of a hospital, converted to a chantry chapel and then a school, discover this little building with a varied history..Today, the chapel now houses a second-hand bookshop and the ancient, and much altered, interior is open to the public

The oldest building in Buckingham but much altered over the years. Home to a 2nd hand bookshop as well as some of the nicest Nat. Trust volunteers that I've ever come across. Well worth saying hello to them and learning some of the history of this fascinating building. My photo doesn't do it justice and the inside is well worth a look.

I volunteer there. Large second hand book shop and coffee tea etc. Oldest building in Buckingham. NT owned since 1912. Free entry.

Nice, cozy place to read and have a cup of coffee (and some delicious fruit cake!). People are very nice and talk about the history of the place with delight.

Nice place to stop for a coffee and a piece of cake, peruse the many second hand books on sale. This is a 15th century chapel with Norman influence in the structure which was restored by Gilbert Russell in 1875 and is now owned by the National Trust.I believe it is the oldest building in Buckingham once having been a school, hospital and church. The staff are very friendly and will happily tell you about the history of the building. Parking is non-existent so you will have to find somewhere to park nearby and walk there.

The most interesting part is the arched Norman doorway. The inside is rather a disappointment.

Lovely place and interesting history but be aware that there is no longer a coffee at the chapel. There is however a large selection of second hand books and as always very friendly volunteers
