General:Small flat: 500 pounds a month for a 3x5m room and shared kitchen, toilet, showers with 4 other students. More expensive than private places, but has benefits. Includes Glasgow Uni Sports Association gym membership, required to go to the gym or join sports clubs (100 pounds annually)Building and furniture:Building and interieur are very old, stuff breaks constantly but gets replaced within a week free of charge usually. Furniture quality is medium to poor, mattress and stove included. Sinks generally don't have mixing taps and tend to clog up, except the kitchen. The water from my room's tap always looks white and disgusting, but apparently it's okay after chemical checkup. The hoover stinks your room and the cleaning equipment looks like it hasn't been replaced ever since it was initally bought 40 years ago.You are pretty much not allowed to bring in any type of furniture, electric appliances,... even posters are not allowed and will be confiscated (and I guess discarded).Services:Half of the washing machines are broken all the time, so doing laundry can waste a lot of time, waiting for machines to become free, or to get refunded for machines eating your cash. Laundry is 2.40 and Dryer 1.00 pounds, 1 machine load should be enough for a week.WiFi signal is depending on your flat's position completely overloaded and might not work at all during high use periods between 18:00 and 23:00. Cable internet is fast with 50/50 Mbps (room only), but becomes a lot worse at evening times.Staff and student helpers are always very kind, but very strict, even if their rules are unreasonable.Commute to University and surroundings:From here it is about a 25 minute walk to all university buildings, which can get tedious after a while. There is no good connection to bike to uni, so it will take maybe 15-20 minutes or lifting it over a lot of stairs, depending on the traffic.Lidl, 2xIceland and 3xTesco stores are in 20 minute radius on foot. The surrounding area is quite well lit and quite secure, especially the way to uni. Kelvin Hall sports centre (training space for most sports clubs) is about 45 minutes to the south, on foot.Other:During the nights and especially weekends you can hear people partying, but it's not so bad that you can't sleep if you have your window closed.Occasionally there are small parties or movie nights in the communal area, where you can snatch a slice of pizza for free.I don't think it's worth the price. Maybe that's why they say only 20% of the capacity are higher year students, not because they are so generous to first years, but because you are so awfully restricted and not getting your money's value.

Pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews. Nice and clean, well heated. Excellent internet, kitchens ok. Big bed in rooms, nice furniture in good condition, showers and toilets in good repair, though basic. Shame the flats dont have a living room, but it seems a great place to get used to living away from home.

It's early days, just dropped off daughter for her first year. Room seems smaller than her older sisters had in their first years. (At Different Uni's) and considering there are 10 students sharing one kitchen in the flat, there is not much fridge/freezer space (less than a shelf each) or cupboard space. No common lounge area in the flat, just the kitchen. On the plus side it feels like it will be warm. I also wonder if just 2 toilets and showers will be enough.

This is one of the student accommodations for the University of Glasgow. The surrounding area is very grim but the village is quite self contained. There are public buses nearby but i feel the University should provide shuttle buses for students from here to the University as it is quite a walk from Murano to the University. The accommodation itself is good.

Basically slums, the people there were nice but the rooms were awful, covered in dirt and mould. Rip off for £140 a week. Avoid

Was appalled by the horrendous reviews by previous stayers, however, upon checking in, rooms were rather clean and facilities are upgraded and modern. Kitchen facilities are fine however pots and pans are somewhat damaged. Rooms are nice with comfortable beds but with thin pillows. Bedsheets has signs of pethairs and carpet has plenty of hairs that are not my own. Vacuums and brooms are present and can be used to clean your rooms to your liking. Considering it's about 388pounds for 18 days. I'll say it's a pretty good deal

Here as a student of University of Glasgow. Not a day goes by without something happening but overall a pretty friendly place. Flats with more people could benefit with another washroom.

My friend was staying here and I came over to visit a few times, it's a very modern student village and I would often feel jealous of people living here. It's in a great location and there's always a party going on in the village. I do think the security here is good even for late hours too.
