Best of Suffolk

We have been booking Best of Suffolk for several years and booked lots of stays with them. At every point their service has been first class. We can not recommend them enough! The accommodation is exactly as it is described which is first class and always wonderfully clean. What I love are the extra special touches they add, like great wine or yummy cake. What more can you ask?!

Booking and provision of information prior to the week was very efficient. We had an issue with the washer drier which we reported first thing Monday morning to which the team responded promptly - however the owner did not rectify the matter so we were without a fully functioning machine for the week. The removal of the hand held shower from the en-suite was disappointing as it meant there was only one shower for 7 people. Laundry was well managed and the house was generally clean. We appreciated the welcome groceries. The standard of cleaning in the kitchen in particular was not up to a satisfactory standard. Worktop appliances had clearly not been moved as there were remnants of food behind them. We would however recommend the property - great house and lovely location.

Very disappointing, inefficient service and communication. The deposit return time is unacceptable. On leaving the property in perfect condition it was confirmed there were no damages on the day. However the deposit refund was not initiated until some days later. Nearly two weeks after that date, we still haven’t received our hefty deposit back! In this day and age of technology and instant bank transfers, I was surprised to read the company said they had no control over the timings and continue to blame the card processors. Two weeks… really? Never have I experienced this refund turnaround time with any company. Requests to speak to senior management have gone ignored. Suffice to say Best of Suffolk have lost a potential loyal customer. Interestingly the owner feels the same - the margin Best of Suffolk charge is unacceptable and he is moving the property to another rental company. We’ll continue to visit beautiful Suffolk regularly but not through this rental company who do not seem to put customers first nor run their operations efficiently.

Very disappointing stay at Walton House, Southwold booked with Best of Suffolk. Our stay with them was plagued with issues that weren’t all resolved. Very poor communication (like a 2 day delay in responding to my email after chasing and no reply). Responding after our stay had ended, how is that rectifying!! You had 2 days before we left and no contact from yourselves, think that just negates your comments.The details provided on their website were not accurate by omission. The courtyard area was a shared space!! Not suitable for dogs and the external passageway door could not be locked as it was a fire escape for the shop.Also, no shaver point or mirror, really!!Add to that, we believe there’s a fire evacuation risk with the exit from the master bedroom to the stairwell.To that end we left before the end of our stay without any compensation or visit from the Best of Suffolk team.

I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Best of Suffolk. We booked a holiday in January 2020 for September 2020 before the full scale of Covid-19 was apparent. We currently live in Switzerland and planned the trip to Aldeburgh to celebrate my mother's birthday. The entire booking process was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful (as they have been for previous trips). The week before our planned visit, Switzerland was placed on England's Covid quarantine list and so travel was not possible. The way Best of Suffolk dealt with the situation was outstanding. Within 24 hours they had fully refunded all money and with no hassle or fuss. Given the frustration and sadness of missing my mum's birthday, it made such a difference to our situation to have this resolved quickly and easily. We are very grateful for how the team responded. Highly recommended and as soon as the opportunity arises we will be booking with them again!

Booked Home Reach for a special family celebration and we weren’t disappointed. We arrived at the tail end of Storm Eunice to a power cut. Jules the housekeeper was amazing sending updates and ultimately providing temporary lighting enabling us to unpack and relax.We couldn’t have chosen a better property. So spacious and so very comfortable. Perfect for adults and children. The views were great and some amazing sunsets. As usual Best of Suffolk did not let us down.

Terrible agent, we would advise people to steer clear. Young, arrogant staff and also slow to action return of deposits to customers. Will not use again and recommend against others doing so.

Awful company. Raised many issues during our stay - both by phone and by email - and no one ever got back to us with any sort of update. Matters remain unresolved even now that the holiday is over, and the only contact we had from them about the issues raised was an email allocating a case number. Staff are very abrasive over the phone and do not come across as caring about the problems. We did have problems (largely about the lack of cleanliness) the last time we booked a cottage with Best of Suffolk, so we certainly will not be giving them a third chance.

We have used Best Of Suffolk several times and they are always the first company we would try for anywhere in East Anglia. Their properties are without doubt the best quality in the area and, although we have had very little reason to contact them with any problems, all contact has been good and has led to minor difficulties being quickly resolved.When our very favourite holiday let was unfortunately taken off the market, they were so helpful in finding us an alternative at fairly short notice. It was an excellent substitute, now also off the market! We are trying another this year and, if the photos are anything to go by, it too will be up to the usual standard.We thoroughly recommend this company for quality and service.
