Raithwaite Sandsend

Rooms were very clean and spacious. We had two interconnecting rooms (wife and I + 3 kids).Beers on tap were local. Tremedous. Evening meal was high quality however my steak was more well done than medium rare. There were four other steak orders at our table. 2 were as ordered, whereas the others were more on the over done side. This was a minor point. The rest was excellent.Breakfast was great.We used the pool too.

Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff but an extremely long wait for breakfast especially on one morning. Went earlier the next day and we were served quicker.

One night away, hotel immaculately clean, room well appointed and comfortable, Food excellent, staff very helpful. Poachers bar no longer exists, but still signposted, only bar being in the conservatory which is furnished in a cafe style.Spa treatment very relaxing. Didn't use the pool, but looks goodThe hotel does lack a comfortable lounge area which is a shame, there are a couple of sofas, but that's it.A couple of nice walks start in the grounds of the hotel, but you will need walking boots in wet weather.Certainly recommend Raithwaite

Very nice hotel. The food was good and the staff were v friendly. Surprisingly busy for a cold weekend in December.

Staff friendly and helpful. No air-conditioning in our room, so the room was too hot, even when the window was open. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't seem to work. Having said that, we would stay there again.

This place amazing beautiful setting very quiet and the room was lovely. The staff Tim, Gary and Mel where just outstanding and could not do inuff for us made us feel like we where right at home. Fantastic for dogs also above and beyond to help accommodate your needs with your dog. We did plan on booking again this time next year for goth weekend only to find that the staff who had taken care of us where been lade off after been told they don't do nothing. Both me an my partner found this very sad as all 3 had gone out of there way to take care of every need any one may have had. An I saw nothing but running around from all of them. I would also like to point out that £41.89 was a little steep for a rather rubbish burger and chips also how much for a half of cider how is it you are able to charge 4 pounds for a half of cider. Other than that. Very pleasant experience very accommodating with our dog bonnie. How ever I feel with such good quality staff been let go at the lodge we feel we will nit be staying there next year. I give 5 stars for thr part we stayed in an room 1003 was lovley. Thank you so much to staff at the lodge.

Was treated here by my husband for 3 days, absolutely loved our stay, grounds beautiful and only a short walk from Sandsend.Staff were very friendly, helpful, and smiley. Housekeeping were doing an amazing job and always friendly, especially when I asked for an extra bottle of water for the room. Thank you.Our room was 303. Nice and quiet area of hotel, in the roof, so no real view but was nice and quiet. Room was nice, although the bed was quite hard, the furniture needed some TLC and the size of the bathroom, easily could have had a decent walk in shower, that said it was ample enough for our 3 day stay, any longer stay I might have mentioned it on our stay. I do suggest maybe maintenance go take a look as a few things need tweaking.Restaurant and bar, now staff here were lovely and really helpful. One or two remembered how I had my gin after 1 order so was impressed and staff helpful to help me find the right rosé wine to my liking offering a sample of them to ensure I got what I wanted.Food was very tasty and a good selection of choices. Not too many but enough to choose.Sunday roast was delicious as well. Couldn't fault it.Spa, we used the pool sauna and steam room. All lovely experience and again friendly staff. Nice touch the robes included in roo , my only recommendation would be to provide bigger ones so that someone of a slightly bigger build is comfortable in the robes. Sadly we are nkt all a size 10-16Overall, a lovely stay, hotel is peacefull and calming which is perfect when you are busy all the time and want some down time.Thank you for our stay.

Great place and setting. Spar facilities are very good.Staff are excellent and very accommodating.The rooms (well ours anyway) look like they are ready for maintenance to go in and give them a once over. The beds are also a bit hard but that is personal preference.All in all a very peaceful stay, close to Sandsend.

What a wonderful place to stay. Was bought as a gift for me from my amazing wife. The place and gardens are amazing. Sat outside having a drink and was so peaceful listening to the birds chirping and no music playing and was just so quiet. Breakfast following day was really good lots of variety and catered for all needs.
