What a delight! We happened upon this pub and had a lovely meal - such a cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food, including a festive mince pie. Looking forward to visiting again

Visited here as a group of 4 having travelled from the Midlands arrived bang on opening time.. decent selection of beers ales etc. Nicely kept pub with friendly staff. There is N outside area at the rear which was pleasant in the sunshine.

Really nice pub with a modern take on a traditional style. Staff are really friendly, especially Sarah and Jill. The pub has a great choice of St Austell Ales and nice selection of larger and spirits.Foods perfect, cooked well, tastes great and served quickly. Highly recommend checking out the specials board. Also a pool table for 50p a go is insane!

Have dined here twice now while on holiday in Cornwall. Dog friendly indoors which was very helpful. All staff very friendly and helpful and food is excellent. Able to swap chips for veg without it causing any problems. Good sized portions and well presented. Plenty of food options so could have happily dined there again. Just sorry we went to the nearby Beefeater first, which was a big mistake. At least we found this place in time for our second night. Didn't know about desserts on first visit but had some on our second visit, which were very tasty. Ample parking and easy online booking via their website. Would definitely recommend.

Having heard all about the changes and reviews I popped along as a new face on my travels, the decor looked fine, nothing seemed out of place. The staff are welcoming and the man over the jump was pleasant and polite. The food arrived and they have guinness 0.0 , which is a boost for non drinkers. The gammon was fine and the meal was OK.

One entering we asked where we could sit with the dog, the lady said gruffly anywhere in the bar but didn't clearly state where the bar area was, believe it's the tiled floor. There was an annoying squealing alarm sound over the music, on leaving found it to be fire alarm near door.I went to collect some menus but a staff member arrived at the same time. Ordered food and drinks at the bar, not sure if they take order at the table. Food prices quite high for burger and chips (skinny french fries (not keen), didn't appear any option for chunky chips). Burgers were very greasy, one was Squealer burger and other Reef and Beef burger which had chilli prawns which weren't very tasty. Price £18 and £19 respectively. Two halves of Beaverton £6.50.Asked for bill to be told service charge of 10% added ...but you can have it removed. Yes please.. two burgers and half a pint each was £43.50 already.

Went here for a meal and woefully disapointed. Ordered the battered fish with Hand cut Chips"

A very pleasant pub with a limited but excellent menu, staff are polite attentive and professional.Found this place via a Google search for restaurants in the area and I’m not disappointed.Price point is mid range £25+ per person being a realistic price. Take care as adding courses and side adds up quickly!Ok, one criticism, there is an infernal beeping in the restaurant that is so invasive it spoils the dinning experience.

Haven't been here for many years so when passing thought we would give it a try for lunch. The menu was more for evening then a light lunch. We decided to go for loaded fries. Being a veggie had parmesan and truffle oil which was ok. They are dog friendly but inside they need to be in the bar area. Plenty of seating inside and out. Staff were great.
