The hotel has a great location in the centre of Cambridge on Downing Street, so ideal for both city centre shopping and to head down to the river for punting.Excellent arrival, valets are waiting on the forecourt to park your car.Check in was seamless, very polite staff and great explanation of local area and things to do, places to eat etc.The room itself is functional, nothing spectacular. Could do with a bit more soundproofing, not great of you have noisy neighbours. The piano bar in the evening is nice to unwind after a long day walking around town.Breakfast was super, huge selection. All the staff are excellent, courteous, helpful and all done with a smile.

This was the best place we stayed during our month long vacation! The Staff was above and beyond friendly and attentive! They made us feel so welcome. We were completely taken care off from the moment we stepped in until the moment we left. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh! The Executive Happy Hour was completely worth the upgrade!

I spent two nights at this hotel with my partner a few weeks ago. The location is unbeatable, right in the middle of Cambridge, and you can walk to pretty much all the sights from there. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Decor was understated, but I didn’t mind that. There were lots of drawers to store things, which was handy. Our room was on the fourth floor and facing west, which meant that it was particularly quiet, even if the view wasn’t very interesting. Please note that the rooms don’t seem to have fridges. The bathroom was clean, but it was definitely on the small side.We received good service - we were offered prosecco when we checked in (early, at no extra fee), and reception printed a document for me without any fuss. The hotel’s luggage holding service is also very handy after check out.All in all, I would recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, and service. I would just say that the hotel looks slightly dated inside, especially for a 4-star hotel and at this price point.

Nice clean room but room sizes and outlook very variable.Great selection at the breakfast buffet but the hot items could be hotter.Dinner service at rather a relaxed pace!

Good Central location. Expensive but quality rooms and breakfast. Sadly no Guinness on tap (I refused to option of a can put through a machine). Breakfast could be improved by having filter coffee and tea in pots rather than having to queue at the machines. Thanks for the reply, I received: there was beside the drinks machines 2 hot plates on which pots of filter coffee could be placed but on the 3 breakfasts I enjoyed in the hotel, there was never any filter coffee keeping warm on them, which is why i made comment in the first review above.

Stayed here a few times and have to say this one was a disappointment. First room was awful on 4th floor with the window blocked by the gable end of some wooden structure. Moved to a better room which in fairness looked tired and an uncomfortable bed to suit! Restaurant was closed (Sunday night), but all that said still a very convenient hotel in a great spot for visiting our daughter at Uni. Staff and breakfasts all good too. Will continue to stay, but maybe upgrade a bit next time.

I travel at least 150 days a year and can say this is a great hotel. The staff are helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean. One of the best breakfast buffets in Europe. Location is second to none. The Executive Lounge is one of the best in Europe and they are very dog friendly. In summary, a great place to stay while in Cambridge.

I spent one night here and was expecting The Hilton to be pretty average, but I was pleasantly surprised! The staff were incredibly friendly, efficient and professional, and the little note left on my nightstand was a lovely touch. The room was remarkably peaceful, considering the hotel is across the road from a popular bar on a Saturday night in December. The room was very cosy, and I found the air con and window both very easy to operate. My only negative point (which wasn't even worth removing a whole star from my rating) is that the shower made a high pitched hum when it was running, which was more annoying because the same issue was happening in the room next door as well. The breakfast was fab. A great selection of juices, cakes, pastries, breads, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruits, compots, salad items and granola/yoghurt/porridge toppings. There was also a comprehensive hot selection including eggs, veggies, potato items and meat items. I particularly liked that there were plant-based versions of most items at the breakfast buffet that you could help yourself to without having to specifically ask for it (unlike at many hotels). In summary, while the Hilton does lack the small extras that make a 4 or 5 star hotel really stand out, it was really lovely and I was able to get a fab rest.

When checking out a day early with plenty of notice to the hotel they said that they were still going to charge me. As a diamond member I called Hilton honors because I have never had this happen and Hilton honors told me that they shouldn’t charge me. Hilton honors tried calling the hotel and got no response and the front desk did not want to get the manager. Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered.

Check in was very easy. Our King size room was very nice, the bed and pillows were very comfy. Nice to see a hotel that gives you 2 pillows at the start of the stay instead of needing to request them.Lots of room in the bathroom as well.Shame there wasn't a small fridge as we were hoping we could have stores some water and other things away for our trip home but apart from that it was lovely. The breakfast was also very nice, lots of choice for vegetarians and meat eaters. There is hot food, yoghurts, pancakes, pastries and cereals and more.Everything was very clean. We were also able to keep our luggage at the hotel while we adventured around Cambridge which was ideal.
