Golden Ball Hotel
We did not sleep here, we came for lunch. This used to be a nice place with good food. Unfortunately, the only thing left in a good state is the location, the food and service are very disappointing.There was hardly anyone available to help us. We found the menus by ourselves, and after a while, we found someone to help us with our order. When the food was brought, the waitress didn't know what she was bringing.

We popped in for tea.The service was so slow, from the guy taking our order who didn't really know what he was doing" to the waiting on staff not bring cutlery out. Our meals came out separately about 10 minutes between. Also we waited around an hour for food to come at all.Lovely place

Haven't been to the Golden Ball for years what a transformation. Food was really nice limited menu Monday Tuesday will definitely be returning when the full menu is available. Recommended for good food and scenery.

Location beautiful, ample free parking, food was good but service terrible, charged us £10 for two drinks we didn't have. The pod we stayed in, again fabulous views but advertised as luxury which is a bit over the top. The pods and surrounding area are in bad need of a refurb, don't get me wrong we enjoyed our one night stay and would stay again but if it is not tidied up by the next time we come we won't come back again. The grassed area around the pods was far too long with nettles and very overgrown, the pods decking area would benefit from a power wash to get rid of all the cobwebs etc. Towel rail was hanging off in the bathroom and only half a toilet roll with no spare. The bathroom door was sticking badly which made a terrible noise when opening or closing and the cushion covers on the sofa were badly stained. But all that considered we enjoyed our stay but they need to get their act together or by next year the pods will not be fit for purpose.

Nice place but no breakfast facilities which can be a problem. Limited dinner menu. Gorgeous views if the weather is kind.

I went for a meal here yesterday! The food & service was amazing. I had the hell’s chicken 10/10.This is a must try place, beautiful views, I highly recommend.

Ideal quiet prettylocation spoilt by noisy kids shouting in the evenings. No breakfast but no provision for making your own. Could do with a small fridge,microwave and some cutlery and pots. Room spacious and very clean. Food at the pub was good too.

Quiet riverside chalet style hotel off a small side road that is occasionally affected by high spring tides.No food on offer was a bit of a pain meaning we had to arrive then leave to drive to get food, Wi-Fi not good at all.

We enjoyed sunday lunch today. We opted for the roast beef dinner. It was excellent and very good value. The beef was superb and large portions. Service was friendly and prompt. Throughly recommend the Golden Ball.

Came for a meal with my 2 Grandaughters...Disappointed as half the children's menu wasn't available...Ordered appetisers. We were given simple garlic bread as a substitute for the flat bread with hummus without even checking with us, and told this was because there was no hummus. Miserable service at the bar too. Sad to say it was a disappointing visit...
