Muthu Clumber Park Hotel & Spa

Did one day spa here today in the mid of the week, had great experience. So clean and quiet. They provide towel on arrival plus drink. Clean changing room, clean toilets. Decent size swimming pool. They have an outdoor hot tub, I enjoyed both the sun and the rain! I did not use sauna but the steam room was good. Staff are welcoming. Will be coming back again.

Just completed a three night stay but very disappointed.Had to stay the three nights due to a wedding we were attending.Carpet in room had large white gloss paint stains on it, the ceiling was splattered with paint from the walls and huge cobwebs on curtains and pelmet.Bathroom even worse, mastic around bath peeling off revealing gaps all round the bath, bath panel only just holding on plus toilet seat shifting from side to side.Reported this but nothing done.Spoke to other people who had similar problems, one didn't even have the room made up after returning from a day out.Building very run down with tatty, awful paintwork even had a large water leak stain on inside of conservatory/breakfast room.Scuff marks galore in the hotel, where is maintenance?No chance of a partial refund even mentioned.Only positive was friendly bar staff.Avoid like the plague, just book a Premier Inn instead.

I was disappointed after seeing the rooms on the website- ours was quite depressing. Our fish and chip meal was sent back as it was batter and chips (Although lovely chips!) Reception staff were lovely and the flooring very pretty but wouldn't recommend a stay here unless it was much cheaper room rates

The hotel has lots of plastic plants that are bad for the environment. Staff are generally friendly but one ortwo of the waiters are not.The rooms could do with a deep clean as the amount of thick dust in the carpet and behind the bed is disgusting. Fantastic countryside location but the place needs work and improvements. Gym is well equipped but horrendously hot and humid because the air conditioning is not working properly. Breakfast and evening meals are good but not great.

If there was a minus rating it would have been***DONT STAY*** DONT believe the website photos!!!! This is trading standards offence as not what is being delivered to customers.This place needs shutting down for a full refurbishment and fumigation. currently the place is vile, dirty, management don't even care and don't get me started on the smells.On arrival we were give access to our 2 superior rooms"... Nothing superior about them. Dated decor I can tolerate but there is no excuse for lack of cleanliness. Mould in the bathrooms

We went for afternoon tea. I am intolerant of cheese, so this was reflected in our sandwiches. The sandwiches were boring and unimaginative. 2 tuna that were lacking any seasoning or dressing and 2 egg, again lacking anything with them.The cakes were OK.The service from Jasmine was excellent.We had to wait what seemed like a long time.Would I go back ? NoIt was a disappointing afternoon.

I stayed at this hotel on the 30th of September (2023) whilst I was grooming for a rider at Osberton Horse Trials.I was severely disappointed and I wasn't even expecting much other than a warm and clean place to stay with working facilities. Even the basic standard of service failed to be provided for my stay. If I could give a negative star rating I would.1) I was offered a free upgrade on my original booking and ended up in a 'disabled' room. I fail to see how that is an upgrade. Rather I'm filling a room that they previously had no use for and I am NOT disabled.2). The room had apparently been cleaned and made ready for check-in but when I showed up at approximately 16:00 it had been rushed to say the leasta. No loo roll was provided in the bathroom and I had to request it from the reception.b. The shower head looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in months and was covered in limescale and mould3) There was a clothes moth infestation in that room and in general it clearly need pest control4). There was no phone in the room for a wakeup call to even be an option. Tricky as my phone was dying.5) The door handle to the bathroom was broken so I couldn't even close/open it properly5) They say they offer room service on the menu, yet when I requested it at the bar I was told they don't do room service. I came back from Osberton horse trials exhausted and in need of a shower and the dinning room was due to close. All I wanted was to eat and crash.I requested a refund for the stay as the most basic service level wasn't met but we are now more than a month down the road and no refund as was promised. This was after they tried to offer me a free stay in lieu of a refund. Why on earth would I return here?!I rarely leave poor reviews for hotels, but this was just terrible and I feel people should be made aware. I'm just sorry that I was too tired to have the presence of mind to take photos. It appears other reviewers have however and I back them up completely. I have no doubt they had a similar experience.Avoid at all costs!!

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival we were greeted at the front desk and were given no information about the hotel itself, spa or restaurant. So as we were left to our own devices we decided to walk around the hotel. On our walk around all we could smell was a warm damp smell throughout the ground floor hallways. When going to our room on the upper floor there was a large hole in the wall/ceiling covered in black mould. Eventually we arrived at the room and things didn't get much better, the desk had a handle missing, the armchair was stained, the light fixtures had bugs inside. When we got to the bathroom the edges of the bathroom were covered in hair and there was also a dead bug behind the door. It seems that the rooms are not cleaned very well between guests. This hotel is in need of a renovation as all money has seemed to have been spent on the spa downstairs. I do not think the stay was worth what we paid at all and I urge others to find elsewhere to stay.

The rooms desperately need redecorating and updating - not overly clean and the curtains fell off the wall in one of the rooms we had booked. Dinner in the restaurant was not great - food was just about average but the service was not up to standard. The restaurant area also needs redecorating and reformatting. Breakfast was close to a disaster. Had to wait for food, coffee and juice - granted it was busy but they must’ve known how many guests were staying and geared up appropriately. The food was alright but nothing special. I’m told the pool and the gym were OK. Wi-Fi was free and quite good. The place is crying out for investment and good quality staff - until that happens, I wouldn’t stay there again.

Me and my husband have been coming here for a very long time we had an over night stay last night and we was very disappointed on how things look and have changed . Every member of staff has been changed. So u no longer see a familiar face . The bar has been changed so u can no longer sit in comfort when having a drink . If you now want to plan your special day u would have to sit in reception has they have removed the table that u would sit around. The breakfast buffet has now been stopped . The place does not feel the same we felt like we was sat in a library. No communication any more . Rooms really need updating. This use to feel like a second home to us and. Has off now we will not be returning this hotel was absolutely fine before it got taken over . Every member of staff that are now there don't speak to u or can't understand u. It took me 5 attempts to ask for a portion of chips. This isn't good for custom . Please consider changing things or u will loose alot of custom. I didn't want to do this review but after speaking to the manager this morning who didn't look particularly bothered about what I was saying I had no choice .
