CAM Electrical

I was so disappointed by the workmanship and customer service during the first fix of a complete rewire that I terminated working with them for the second fix.Independent (non electrical) trade professionals (who I had not employed) raised concerns over the workmanship of the electrics and advised I discuss the points with CAM Electricals.I detailed all of the points in an email to CAM Electricals, stating that I had some concerns and please could we discuss the points raised. I stated I was emailing first so they had time to consider the points.Within minutes of hitting send on the email I received a phone call in response to the email from a moving vehicle with intermittent signal, certainly not conducive to discuss the points raised in the email. I was later told they call hands free from vans as this is when it is convenient for them, this about summed up the customer service I received.It transpires I was not advised on: isolator switches for under counter fridges and freezers. I was not advisor on a switch for the extractor fan, the sockets were sat on top of skirting boards meaning wires would rub. I was not advised on a wired smoke alarm. The wires used for the distribution box would have been immediately insufficient if the electrical company upgraded their box. A socket was fed from a single wire extending from another socket which I am told is just lazy when in the middle of a full rewire. The electrician cut holes in original 1920’s skirting boards and again multiple trades people have told me this could have been avoided. The industrial waste from the first fix was left outside the front door, with the electrician saying I wasn’t told to remove it. I had to follow up to get it removed. I was left without water for 6 days, because they thought that was ok and wouldn’t impact me. I found my original smoke alarm in the garden beeping which meant that my house insurance was invalid.I sought advice from a further two electricians and in fairness to CAM electricals invited them to discuss the issues at the property, even though on the first call CAM Electricals had told 'builders don't know what they are talking about and I should ignore them. I was offered a meeting at my house between 17.00 to 19.00 in February. I pointed out the house had no heating or electrics and it would be cold and dark. The response was

CAM Electrical is a very professional, experienced firm with high standards. My elderly, vulnerable mother in law needed safety work done to her house. CAM Electrical were careful and sensitive and left the house clean and tidy. We were very pleased with the standard of the work. Estimates were accurate and clearly set out. Customer service and communication with us as clients was excellent. We will certainly use their services in the future and in fact will be doing again so quite soon.

Electrician (Calum) replaced kitchen lights. Don't be fooled by his youthful looks! He's very knowledgeable, works confidently and efficiently, and is profession throughout. Took the time to explain the issues and why the new installation would fix them. Job done as per quotation. Very pleased with the work. I'll be using CAM again.

Their electrician was very competent and knowledgeable. The repair to some faulty wiring was carried out to a high standard. This was the second job they've done for me, and I recommend them. Their people are pleasant to deal with as well as being very professional.

We have used CAM Electrical several times now and cannot fault the service they give.They turn up when they say complete the work quickly and efficiently and charge a fair price. Even short notice they manage to come out quickly. My experience is phone CAM Electrical and relax knowing that the job will be carried out with no problems or excuses. A very reliable team of professionals who always endeavoured to do all the work as smoothly as possible. They were very flexible with last minute requests for alterations too! Would definitely use them again. We had a full rewire done of the whole house.

We were having a problem with getting a second fix completed on the electric supply to our summerhouse. We contacted Cam Electrical to see if they could give us a quote. Chad had a cancellation and came out, took details of our requirements and gave a quote. Chad then got the materials and did all that was required in a pleasant neat and tidy way. We now just need to do the insulation. Chad left the site clean and took away all waste. We have no hesitation in recommending Cam Electrical.
