One of the best hotels I’ve experienced, from upon my arrival to departure. All staff were professional (friendly and helpful), my hotel room was lovely (clean, spacious, great location, all amenities operational including the air conditioner), lovely food (restaurant, breakfast and room service). I’ll definitely return in future, when travelling to the UK (from Australia).

We stayed in a Queen guest room as guests for a wedding over the weekend. The room itself was very nice, spacious, modern and had all the amenities you could need such as hair dryer, big long mirrors, mini fridge, heater, fan & ironing board/iron. We slept very comfortable once we fell asleep. The bathroom was very nice and the mirror very flattering! Shower pressure was good and water very hot.The service of checking in was poor we turned up at 2:30pm and the wedding was at 3pm, it took 25 minutes to be checked in and there was a big queue ahead of us. No urgency was made to get us checked in so we could meet the wedding party. What made it worse was the receptionist kept saying it will be one moment but it wasn’t one moment at all.The actual service for the wedding was good when sat down to eat, but i between the ceremony and this there was no one waiting on the bar and the staff seemed quite spread out. You would expect with a wedding going ahead there would have been someone ready to serve. The wedding did go on until 12am, as guests it didn’t bother us too much but when going to sleep at 11:30pm you could still hear the music. I imagine if just staying there this would be very annoying.Breakfast the next day was good for us and the food was very tasty, buffet style. Our friends had a bad experience and got up early, they had to wait 30 minutes for the food to be put out.Didn’t use the pool, but each time we checked it was full of children which isn’t for us, but understand that would be good for families.Overall I would stay here again but would request to see if there was a quieter room.

Went here with my family as we were going to lapland the next day. In summary, steer clear and spend your money eleswhere. Our experience was pretty dire from beginning to end. Check-in was chaotic. After waiting for 15 mins we were finally seen but they had the wrong information. We were told we couldnt use the pool but come back tomorrow and we could use it. When we turned up at the pool we were then told kids can only use the pool from 8am-10am and 4pm -6pm. The duty manager explained to us that we should have checked this on the website and that she wasn't going to make any exception as she was afraid of what it could mean for her job if her boss found out. She did offer us a 10 % discount but tbh at this point we just wanted to leave.Dinner was also choatic. In single dinner they, served one of our party starters and main course at the same time, another person didnt get drinks despite repeated requests, they forgot one of the kids food, got another persons order wrong. All the front of house staff are quite lovely but its clear they are simply not enough of them to cope with the the number of guests. This is the second time we stayed here ( we had some of the same problems last time but the staff were so nice we said we would try again in case it was a one off) there will not be a third time.Steer clear if you have a family and try one of the other hotels!

Nice hotel, room we had was to a good standard. We tried the bar food one night and found it to be overpriced for what it was and the menu was poor.Breakfast was good but you had to eat hot food quickly. I'm a tea fan but there were no tea pots only flasks of hot water (not hot enough for tea) great staff to the rescue were able to get pots of tea. I was also very disappointed with the gluten free option, the toaster wasn't signed as gluten free only. Pool was nice but the towels were in short supply.

Our room did not have working air conditioning which made sleeping very difficult. This was a known problem as we were greeted on check in with two fans but they could only push around the hot air really. Also, our taps would not come on. I would recommend getting normal taps that turn reliably rather than ones that are massively affected by heat.I informed the hotel prior to our breakfast that our taps wouldn’t come on, but no one came to our room before checking out (est. An hour after) so we had to use the shower to brush teeth before checking out an hour earlier than we would have due to how extremely hot the room was without air con.

Went for a Spa and afternoon tea day must say we were rather disappointed, after lots of emails in the week leading up to the day just trying to book a time for the afternoon tea as this should be between 12 &3.30 we were told we could have it at 4.45! We did have it at 2.30 in a deserted dining room, yet we had so much trouble trying to book it,when we went to the pool all the loungers were taken and there were so many screaming children, not a very relaxing day,the afternoon tea was OK 6 small sandwiches, very very small cakes but the Scones were lovely still warm,no staff in the dining room asked if everything was to our satisfaction and if we were OK if we would like another pot of tea so in the end came home and made one!! Definitely not worth the £95 we paid still you live and learn.

Great place loads of sound for the dog to explore. Mohammed in the restaurant was amazing. Found us a table when they were fully booked. As we didn't book a table. Loads of delicious food options and very big portions. Thank you chef. We left full and very satisfied.

We went as it was my son's wedding in a nearby village. Rooms just perfect and the balcony was an added touch. Staff really friendly and so helpful. Breakfast was great too. I had 2 double beds iny room as I had my granddaughter's, they was so comfy and we also had a fridge and air conditioning. We didn't get to used the pool and other facilities as far too busy but I absolutely loved my stay as did the girls and the bride and groom . Also lots of rabbits and deer on the grounds which made the girls day. Thank you for a lovely stay. Will definitely book next time I'm in the area.

Such an amazing and relaxed stay we had there. The staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and always kept clean. The breakfast was an easy 5 star! Lots of variety and definitely worth another stay. The swimming pool was small but still big enough for all the guest at the time and their kids. The sauna, steam room and the jacuzzi were all kept nice and clean and right next to each other so easy access.

Absolutely horrific stay at the Doubletree Hilton. My wife went to turn off the electric heater in the room and got an electric shock from the socket, we had to call 999 emergency services. The on duty manager was clueless and just kept offering free drinksWe moved rooms and then the bath tub was damaged.Other guests were complaining of mould in their rooms and quite frankly this place should be inspected URGENTLY!!!!Awful stay, hardly slept and to top it off they had a xmas party going on last 12am with music so loud that our 3 year old did not fall back to sleep until 1am.Completely ruined our day out at Lapland so if you are a young family I would recommend avoiding this place
