Oak Street Medical Practice

After 25 years of being a loyal patient I've been badly let down by Oak Street medical practice, to the extent its endandered my health. It's clearly broken. What's gone wrong Oak Street?

Really good doctors surgery where you feel heard and looked after by the GP’s and staff. I recently changed doctors to Oak Street Medical Practice and they have been excellent in treating me. They have been really good at arranging appointments, talk to me over the phone, listen to me when talking, great with my prescriptions, etc. If you’re looking for a good doctors, this is it.

I have always felt looked after by not only the doctors at Oak Street Medical Practice but , the Nurses , Clinicians and Receptionists have always shown care and consideration to me .On many occasions going that extra mile. With a genuine emergency , within hours even minutes it will be sorted . I've been in hysterical states at 5 in the morning leaving desperate messages and the level of care given as soon as they opened was exemplary. I feel safe under their umbrella"."

Making an appointment is impossible at this surgery. ‘Doctors are off sick’ & ‘go to a walk in centre or A&E’ are ‘official’ reception’s statements when you call for help. This has been going on for months now. The only practice in Norwich that has its doors locked since lockdown and as far as I’m aware there aren’t any covid restrictions in the UK. Absolute shambles. I will be raising a formal complaint to CQC/ICB.

How can every single doctor be ill at the same time and how can no one working there not tell us whats going on, and still wont take ant appointment for future? The online form is useless to book appointments because if they dont deem it important itll just tell you too bad, not give you an appointment and just kick you out to try again another day. Oak street used to be good but recently its like they dont want to help anyone anymore

I was there this morning for a blood test. Before leaving I tried to make an appointment, two receptionists sat there doing nothing, I was told I could only book an appointment online? madnessEight months on I had an appointment for 08:30. They did not even open the shutters until 08;30, I sat in an empty surgery for another fifteen minutes, before I was called in, with nobody else in the place The first appointment of the day running fifteen minutes late, Now they have so few doctors that go home and book online, is no longer valid, you have to ring the surgery, to see if they have any doctors in that day!. That and the fact the door is still locked and you have to ring a bell to get in, if you arrive to early they will not let you in.Suddenly without warning or explanation a pain medication was cut in half, meaning I can only order a month's worth, every two months. Wanted an appointment to discuss medication face to face with a doctor, had to wait eight days, for an appointment with another surgery, The doctor could find no reason for the medication being reduced so reinstated it. Not a problem, for Oak street , just several days of pain for me.

2 doctor's not well so no appointments available. I was recommended the walk in centre was my best bet. Reading other reviews I got the Oak Street standard answer this morning

Enough is enought this been going on months now no appinments no drs can’t book no appointments on line been going on. Months months drs don’t go off sick for months just read other reviewsThey put my partner at risk on Sunday he had ambulance out the staff said call his drs on Monday to get medication no drsThis surgery need to been look at serious concerns here now putting patients at risk

So I understand why you can't see a doctor at the weekend, but with this practice, you can't even send a message at the weekend, book an appointment, or anything. And during the week didn't seem to be much better. I just never seen to be able to contact this practice when I actually need it. So I'm going to try and register with a different doctor now. I'm fed up.

This surgery is disgraceful.For years they wouldn't let you send a message via the website) if they were closed and now they've disabled their online forms 'due to GP illness'.Firstly, how many GPs could be ill? Secondly, what does it matter? Let me send my message and let them get to it when they're back.Also, a quick scan of the comments here shows they've been claiming 'GP illness' for weeks and not letting people send requests online.Meanwhile, it's impossible to get hold of them over the phone either.
