We (two couples) gad a great weekend here. Food was good. Staff were great. There was an open Mike night on the weekend we were there, really nice to have some live music in the garden.

Visited last Tuesday and the lasagne was nice but did lack something. Returned Wednesday for the carvery as this had been recommended by family members who had visited before. Unfortunately I was disappointed as the vegetables were lukewarm but thought a nice helping of gravy would help only for that to be lukewarm also and like water!!

Stayed one night, should have stayed for two. The overall building is great, it's so full of character, the room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable.Bathroom was a little small but shower was great, shame did not have the time to use the whirlpool bath.Breakfast was good. The manager who checked us in was very helpful and polite.Very good stay.

Great food and bedroom with friendly professional staff. The wide continental breakfast spread including hams and cheezes more than make up for a lack of cooked breakfast option. Lovely old building including panelled dining room and a Priest Hole.

Went for Sunday lunch (carvery), which was amazing! The beef melted in our mouths, and the pigs in blankets were the nicest I've ever tasted. Will definitely be going back.

We were not resident at the hotel, but had a restaurant meal there. Food was very good, service was a little slow, but it was Friday evening and the place was very busy. Good selection of beers, friendly staff.Sensible prices. If you are in this area we would recommend this hotel.

Rooms at back, not in building, are spacious enough but pretty basic. Gardensare great, very good for small children, play area etc, was very, very quiet in the evening great pint of Butty Bach. Not a lot to do in the town itself, had a lovely pizza...

We went last minute on the way through and had the carvery. Accommodated 3 of us pretty quickly. Drinks came quick and carvery was very good with decent portions. £38 for three of us (one child) was great value. Garden was an added bonus with kids play park.

Stayed here all week room 21 and all i can say is everything is 5 star my rooms is perfect spotless clean. .I have my water and coffee replaced every day. The food is outstanding midweek carvery is one of the best . The continental breakfast will give your day a good healthy start . The pizza and pint meal deal is probably the best u find top quality ingredients with a choice of any drink Is a bargain for 9.95. The staff will do what they can to make sure u get the best . Please keep supporting places like this in small beautiful towns as it helps ever little business around . 10/10
